Will Drogba Still Be At Chelsea Next Season?
Plenty of transfer stories have done the rounds since the end of last season and none more so than that of Didier Drogba. After a poor season by the Ivorian’s previously high standard, during which he publicly expressed his desire to leave on as many occasions as he put the ball in the back of the net, the vertically challenged one looked a certainty to hand in a transfer request. And with his constant tantrums already pushing the Chelsea hierarchy to its limits, his behaviour and subsequent red card in the Champions League final looked to have ensured no-one would be begging the Ivory Coast international to stay. So, it was surely just a matter of which club he’d be going to?
AC Milan have been linked with a move for Drogba pretty much all along, but once former boss and apparent ‘father figure’ Mourinho took the reins at Inter, not many would have put their money on him going anywhere else. Pretty straightforward you would think? So why is he still at Chelsea? Well, no-one’s put in a bid for him for a start.
In fact, this week, AC Milan seem to have turned their full attention to Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor because according to Galliani, Drogba “is not for sale”. It’s not clear where he got that impression from but you’d have to suspect it wasn’t from the player himself because Drogba’s reported to be ‘stunned’ by this announcement.
So, maybe he’ll just have to wait for Jose to put in a bid, although with Massimo Moratti clearly stating Inter won’t be buying any strikers this summer, that conclusion isn’t as foregone as it once looked either.
Of course, we’ve also been told he’s toyed with the idea of staying at Chelsea, although his attitude last season didn’t exactly indicate that that’s what he really wants and with Chelsea rumoured to have been looking around for replacements already, could it be the Ivorian’s burned all his Bridges?

Drogba can fuck off…in fact i will drive him to the airport…while we were sitting in the Luzhniki stadium wondering why the hell he was given a red card ( because we didnt see what had happened) we all watched him walk towards the tunnell where the chelsea massive were sitting. the fella behind me said ‘ do you reckon he is gonna give us a clap as he walks off’ i said probably not because he is a 2 bob c#unt. guess what he didnt. just prooves he is not worth the blue shirt.
fuck him
sorry missed out ‘BOLLOX’….so BOLLOX FUCK HIM…..
Lol, couldn’t agree more.
I cant wait to see the back of this fool. He was making all the noise last season as if he wasnt paid a single penny to do his job. He was fooling himself thinking he was the best player in the world. He isnt that good. You can tell by lack of interests. Go you fucker and play for derby count thats where u belong drogba. Learn how to behave next time.
I bet he stays. Scolari won’t take his shit though. He needs Scolari to put him in his place. If AC Milan said he’s not for sale and Inter aren’t going after a striker, then where else will he go? Has he been linked with another club?
Brian Y, I just can’t see how he’ll stay. I know half the stuff he was meant to have said in the press was probably blown out of proportion but his attitude and behaviour surely backed up his lack of committment? I just don’t see how supporters can feel there’s a place for him now. As to where he’ll go. Who knows? I guess it depends where AC got the idea from that he’s not for sale. If Arsenal don’t let Adebayor go, Milan will still be wanting a striker. And as for Inter, with Mourinho rumoured to be pretty keen on Didier playing for him again, its possible Moratti’s statement is a bit of game playing to bring Drogba’s price down?
Drogba himself is not the problem. It is the rotten values that permeate your club from top to bottom. Drogba last year, who next? Your owner has no values, your players don t, most of your fans dont. Be honest, did you not prefer the old days when you actually had character, personality and bite? Only Terry and Cole get close to that era, and maybe Essien.
Of course it was better pre-Abramovich, I’ve never suggested otherwise. But that doesn’t alter the fact Drogba’s behaviour last season wasn’t acceptable to any supporter with any principles.
Thank you for being on the side of half the Chelsea fans I know that sort of agree. Tend to be the older ones. Its not just Chopper Harris, Charlie Cooke etc, but also, more recently, likes of Zola.
The day Arsenal end up like Chelsea are now, and I fear we are getting close with that fat Russian, is the day I’ll look to do what the ManU and Wimbledon fans did and start again right at the bottom.
We may not have won that much recently , but my 13 year old son has held more silverware than Chelsea have had in their entire history, and more importantly has watched consistently beautiful football . You cant put a price on that. Travelling to and outclassing likes of Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter
Drogba was horrible, but Anelka was awful with his reaction to that penalty miss.
The less said about Anelka the better. I can’t believe I ever gave him the benefit of the doubt when we signed him. His attitude in the CL showed he really will never change.
I’ve said before that Drogba when he wants to, he can be devestatingly good. He had one fantastic season with us and his head inflated beyond belief. He believed his own hype and then forgot what made him so good in the first place. Staying on his feet and sticking the ball in the net.
His constant whinging has done my tree in, Cant wait to see the back of him
You may well see the front of him when ,with his other ex chelsea mates, ,and vieira, plotted by Mourinho, they knock you out the Champions League.
Now we,d all love that , even a few Chelsea fans fixated on The Special One ,would like it.
