Cole Not Missing Mourinho At All
It’s early days for Scolari but already he seems to have sent a bit of a buzz around Stamford Bridge with players singing his praises in the press this week. Cech seems to have fully endorsed his arrival, Terry is clearly happy with him, not least of all because he’s been informed there won’t be any change to the Chelsea captaincy and whilst Lampard doesn’t seem to be able to get away from the new boss quick enough, fellow midfielder Joe Cole, thinks he’s the best thing since sliced bread.
Having met and spent time with the new Chelsea manager this week, Cole doesn’t seem to be able to contain his excitement. Always a player keen to entertain with his flicks and tricks as a youngster, Cole clearly feels this is a side of his game he hasn’t had the freedom to develop since his arrival from West Ham. And the prospect of being given a licence to demonstrate the skills that made him one of England’s most promising youngsters in the 90’s has got Cole like a kid at Christmas.
In an interview after his initial meeting with the new Chelsea boss, Cole raved “I’m getting a good vibe from Scolari. It is early days but he seems very approachable. I’m really excited to play for him, I’m chomping at the bit to get fit and out there.” And in what would seem to be a direct dig at the manager who publicly slated his lack of attention to defensive details, Cole says “The way he (Scolari) sets his teams up, I’ve been waiting for it my entire career – a manager who wants to play the right way. I’m nearly 27 now and have been waiting for someone like him to come along.”
Cole, who’s clearly excited at the prospect of finally being able to express himself on the pitch after years of being told to do the exact opposite, went on to say “He already has the respect of the boys and has settled in nicely. I think it’s going to be happy days for everyone.”
Has he spoken to Lampard lately?

about time lamps signed for chelsea he earns enough now let alone what is on offer.
4 years is a good contract as he may have lost a little pace at 35 and it is only fair to earn a little less to learn your trade a lot in the prime and less n the decrease what is he trying to do double season ticket prices to watch the older slower players mr.ambrovich is right to stand up to player power he has given us a good team we should be gratefull to our russian owner for giving us the cash to buy these players and he should not be held to ransom
Does anyone care about Greedy Frank any more?
I’ve always bigged Joe Cole up by saying if he was a foreigner he’d get more exposure due to his ability with a football. But because he’s English, he gets brushed aside. He solved the England left side problem which was apparent for years and is the best natural footballer England have had since Gazza.
If having Scolari at Chelsea now enables him to express himself more I think not only Chelsea will benefit but England too.
Joe Cole must be increasingly concerned about where he’ll sit in the new manager’s priorities, and as an Arsenal fan that truly likes and rates Joe Cole (and certainly not his shagmeister namesake) my fear for him is that he will sit very close to Scolari…. on the subs bench! Chelsea will be worse off without him in a core role.
