Wenger On Style, The Title…..And The Ryder Cup

I’ve no doubt Arsenal are overjoyed with their goal tally against Sheffield United in the Carling Cup, although not as happy as their manager who’s been bigging them up something rotten lately.
Not only has he warned his rivals Arsenal are better prepared to win the Premier League this season, but naturally, they’re going to do it in style as well according To Wenger. Of course, he’s going to get a bit excited with them being top of the table right now so it’s no wonder he’s talking up a title challenge already, but let’s not forget they were there for a while last season as well and ultimately finished third.
After their game against Bolton, Wenger had a chat with the press about golf surprisingly, saying:
“Collective sport is fantastic if people don’t transform it into an individual sport. It becomes magic if the team play as a team. I’m not a golf fan, but I like to watch the Ryder Cup. There’s something more that makes it beautiful to watch, because of the collective unit and collective spirit. When a team respect that, they’re a joy to watch.”
But he did apparently have a point to make amid his Ryder Cup ramblings, because he went on:
“This team have learned and improved from last year. We want to fight at the top. We want to win the title and the Champions League. We have the quality, we are hungry, and we have a good spirit. What I like about this team is that they have a good attitude and share the same vision and express themselves well. We want to win first of all, but if it’s possible we want to win with style.”
We’ll look forward to them ‘expressing themselves’ for at least half a season then.
Anyway, while Wenger was all wistful and dreamy after the Trotters game, Kolo Toure was a little more disgruntled, particularly regarding the bruising Clichy sustained at the feet of Kevin Davies, complaining “The tackle was a disgrace. If we are going to allow that, we might as well get in kids off the street, they make those challenges. It’s supposed to be a game of skill. I’m sure we could go out and kick players just as hard as we are kicked, but we would rather concentrate on playing football.”
Good job they didn’t have Pogatetz to contend with then really!

lest we forget despite all your millions you won fuck all last season as well.
Your owner has spent 500 million and he gets to watch boring football – what did he waste his money on?
What did u win last year for your 500 million?
Noel – I’m well aware we won nothing last season but what exactly has that got to do with the article?
What’s the article got to do with Chavski?
What’s the article got to do with Chavski?
“Arsenal are leaders with style, after our draw (against Manchester United),” Anelka told Les Dessous du Sport. “We are used to watching them play like this. They have always played extraordinary football.
“They have a super coach who knows how to get the best from his players

Lets think about that for a second, oh yeah, we’re not used to dangerous tackles at Arsenal. I mean Eduardo was just a bit of a Jessie and Diaby didn’t really get hurt the year before either. That said, if the only bad tackles we had to deal with were rugby tackles like JT specialises in, i’m sure our players would suffer less broken legs.
Arsenal are da best. It just shows when a Chelsea blog writes about Arsenal and how jealous are they? With a fucking owner and a fucking manager you will win fuck all this season although your fucking owner might buy you a mickey mouse cup. hahahahahaha.
CHELSEA: DISGRACE ON LONDON.
Chelsea D. what exactly is this article doing the chelsea blog?
Go write it on an arsenal blog.

Heh, why your writing about Wenger on a Chelsea blog?
Want hits from Arsenal fans? I suppose there aren’t many Chelsea fans who know how to work the internets
I really don’t understand the point of you are trying to put across. Do you expect AW to tell the press that it Arsenal doesn’t want to fight at the top; that Arsene does not want to win the EPL and the Champions League? I guess if they asked Big Phil the same questions he would almost, certainly, respond in the same way.
why is this on a chelsea blog?
good point chelsea D.. but then again what has the article got to do with anything?
well what does arsenal win over sheff utd and arsene’s comments really have to do with a chelsea blog?
Couldn’t agree more – why are you writing about us?
Jealousy is an interesting thing.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this an article about Wenger saying Arsenal will be challenging for the title? If my memory serves me right, Chelsea have finished above Arsenal for a few years now as well, which therefore also makes them challengers. Seeing as Arsenal are not in a title race by themselves, I’d say talk about a title challenge DOES actually have something to do with Chelsea and as such, has a place on the blog. Or are Gooners really that precious?
And spurdozer – I’m sure you could’ve thrown a few more ‘fucks’ in there if you’d tried.
Are you saying Arsenal aren’t title challengers? We did finish 4 points behind the Champions last year which would imply we were in it last year.
Why dont you do a blog on your managers faith in your youth system which is so sh!te that he feels the need to sign a Brazilian grandad rather than giving someone younger a chance in place of Essien?

How hard is it to understand? By writing the article AND having to justify it to gooners by saying WE are also involved in a title challenge, surely that implies I’m regarding Arsenal as challengers? Not rocket science.
As for Scolari not having faith in our youth system, the fact that he put a couple of them on the bench last night and gave them a run out once the game was won, already shows he’s got more faith than the previous two managers, so there goes that argument. And Mineiro won’t replace Essien, he’s there as cover for Mikel – who isnt exactly ancient himself. A little bitter you didn’t manage an experienced signing yourselves?
how can we be bitter about Mineiro, we had him on trial before you signed him – he played against fulham reserves with ours. Then we didn’t sign him, because as you saw on Tuesday, he wouldn’t be able to cut it over here. If you’re going to write about Arsenal you may as well know about Arsenal.
Bringing on a couple of kids when a game is won shows no faith whatsoever, what do they gain? Playing 4-0 is like playing a pre-season friendly.
If you’re asking me would i rather have a granddad that Hertha Berlin didnt want anymore or Denilson then yes I would pick Denilson every time.

chelsea scum, you can only dream of the kind of football played by arsenal. keep knocking us but you know your clubs policy of buy big each year isnt exactly the most satisfying way to win anything. we’ve got to the top of the league by barely spending at all, and that has to hurt\ you. start writing about chelsea you numpty
Given a choice between winning the game then bringing youngsters on, or playing youngsters constantly until their bottle goes part way through a season and leads over rivals are lost, I know which one I’d choose.
And nick – buying big EACH year? yeh, I remember when we used to do that too. Been a while now though.
Embarrassing. Again.
Particularly after yesterdays result, yeh.
