Chelsea have confirmed that latest signing Mineiro, who signed on a free transfer will be given the number 27 shirt.

Chelsea boss, Luiz Felipe Scolari has talked the 33 year old up, stating “I have told Chelsea supporters that Mineiro reminds me very much Claude Makelele.  He knows very well what to on the pitch and is a good central midfielder.”

Chances are though, the 33 year old will only feature as cover for the more youthful John Obi Mikel.
