    I vote neither.

    If there is a midfielder dominating, it will be one of the supporting characters. Just like the debate, their form will put us to sleep.

    My money is on Mikel or Alonso/Mascherano, and if Alonso continues to be a red card tackle magnet, he’s my bet.

    I ask myself this question every morning when I wake up and serve myself a plate of hot tea and crumpets. Can one really choose between Lampard and Gerrard, two of the greatest fielders to grace the pitch in the last decade? It is like choosing between me mum’s special pudding or a pint of stout! I think we should all just take a step back and enjoy two of the finest in the world compete and not worry about who trumps who.
