Inevitably, as is the case in every game Chelsea have played this season I think, yesterday’s win against Sunderland saw yet another player limp off the field.

This time, it was Ashley Cole, who’d actually had a decent game until then and now, we’re being told we’ll have to miss him for a couple of weeks. Wayne Bridge came on for Cole yesterday and Scolari has suggested the left-back will be out for a couple of weeks. After the game Scolari stated “Ashley feels something but I don’t know what the diagnosis is. I feel Ashley will not go to Roma. It looks like it is his calf but when he has had the scan we will know for sure.”

Ashley Cole is expected to have a scan today and with the way our injuries have gone this season, you’d have to say Scolari’s ‘couple of weeks’ is probably a conservative guess.
