Cole Absence Confirmed

Chelsea confirmed yesterday that Ashley Cole has been ruled out for up to ten days with a tear to his calf muscle.

Chelsea’s first choice left-back was injured in a challenge with Sunderland’s Steed Malbranque during our 5-0 win on Saturday and was replaced by Wayne Bridge. Cole has not travelled to Italy for the game against Roma and with him also expected to miss the Premier League game against Blackburn, Bridge is likely to deputise again.

The suggestion is that Cole could return for the Carling Cup game against Burnley on November 12^th.
