Scolari Challenging Wenger’s Paranoia?

It’s funny how different managers see things differently.

Arsene Wenger’s players get injured and it’s because everyone they play against sets out to deliberately do them harm. Chelsea players get injured and……well, they just get injured really, it’s an unfortunate consequence of a man’s game isn’t it? Or at least it is according to Luiz Felipe Scolari anyway.

You see, either you feel the need to seek an advantage before games a la Wenger, or you don’t, and obviously Scolari doesn’t feel the need. Because, in the wake of Wenger’s ridiculous comments, Scolari has hinted his disagreement with the Arsenal manager’s comments.

Whilst I’m sure we all appreciate Arsenal play some entertaining football at times, I think it’s fair to say Chelsea have played some decent stuff themselves this season – also picking up the odd injury – and yet the physical side of games in the Premier League don’t seem to have phased our Brazilian boss, who agrees it can be combative at times and yet doesn’t have the same obsessive fear for his players safety.

Scolari says “Yes, sometimes the games are more physical than I was expecting. Sometimes we need to adapt to sides that are much bigger than our players. Sometimes teams play with more physical contact, but not to injure people.”

  2. tony - such an educated response, lol. Again, seeing as your response doesn’t seem to have any relevance to the article, I’ll assume you’re saying the 13 titles are a result of manipulating the press and officials, yeh?
