What’s Going On With Drogba?

Bit strange Drogba’s no-show at Blackburn I thought. I mean, I know he’s been recovering from injury and Scolari seems to be letting him do it as his own pace, but having come on as a sub against Sunderland and Roma already, surely you’d expect a player to carry on having a few minutes here and there to build up their fitness levels?
All seems a bit weird to me, but according to Chelsea’s assistant first team coach, Ray Wilkins, the Ivorian’s return is still on track. Wilkins says “Didier has been out for quite a period, and he still isn’t quite feeling good enough to come into the fold, so we thought it best we left him behind. There is no setback, he just doesn’t feel ready to crack on.”
Still doesn’t ring true to me but then nothing is ever straight forward where Didier Drogba is concerned and he’s apparently been pencilled in for yet another return against Burnley.

Shut up. It’s the same situation with Joe Cole but you refuse to make the same argument. At least we know Drogba is world class while Cole is barely PL class. Is it because Drogba is plain speaking and honest while Cole tries to creep up the arse of whoever’s in charge (before getting slung out yet again)?
Cole barely PL class? lol, Squiddy you really have excelled yourself in your love for Drogba this time – and you reckon I talk rubbish? ha ha. The difference between the two is quite simple really, one of them only ever has positive things to say about his club and does his talking on the pitch, the other one is Didier Drogba.
Maybe he was kept out because of the terribly wet conditions. If he isn’t 100%, I don’t see the need to put him in wet conditions where an injury can come easier.
What has Joe Cole ever actually done? Thrown out by Ranieri, thrown out by Mourinho, rarely performed for Grant, barely appeared for Scolari and subbed out of every game before not even being taken to Blackburn either. Who did Joe Cole ever play well against? Tottenham, West Ham and Wigan? How did he do against Barnsley? That’s his standard. Drogba takes Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona to pieces. Different class by a million miles.
Spektral – good point. Guess we’ll wait for Burnley.
Squiddy – I’ve never questioned Drogba being an outstanding player when he wants to be. Cole on the other hand is committed to the club in every game, not just against the big guns or when it suits him. But whatever Drogba is as a player, he lets himself and the club down as a person.
Learn something about the person Drogba is before making farcical comments about him letting himself down as a person. More embarrassment (humiliation!) from you.
Bottom line is you can’t bear to here the truth when it’s told to you. The slightest word out of place compared to your narrow simplistic view of the world and you think he should be thrown out with the dishwater.
Drogba is a bigger person than any of us will ever be.

A little sensationalist but all very commendable. You must be very proud Squiddy. And obviously I’m deeply ashamed.
