Is Mourinho Really Backing Scolari?

So, Inter Milan have drawn Manchester United in the Champions League, in a game that sees Jose Mourinho up against Sir Alex Ferguson again. I’ve already pointed out how much publicity this will generate and in true Mourinho style, Jose has been giving his opinion on just about everything from the minute the draw was announced.

We all know what a wind up merchant he is and having already had a pop at Wayne Rooney, it seems he might be trying a different tact to irritate Fergie now – by backing his competition. Because despite our recent home form and the questions this has raised over Scolari’s abilities, Mourinho says “Chelsea is a very well organised club. It has a good structure. I think Scolari is well surrounded and protected. And, after all, he was Brazilian national coach. From a coaching point of view that is not difficult, but from a social point of view it is very difficult. It is the kind of place where everyone thinks he is a coach and everyone thinks they are better than the national coach. There cannot be a job which has more pressure than that. From that point of view Scolari is quite well prepared.”

Why do I have trouble believing his sincerity?
