Yuri Zhirkov To Replace Bridge?

With Wayne Bridge’s move to Citeh looking set to be finalised today, Scolari is reported to already have his eye on a replacement.

With a decent deal all but done on Bridge and a tidy profit into the bargain, Scolari should have a few million to play with in the transfer window himself and rumour has it he’s keen on CSKA Moscow’s Yuri Zhirkov.

The 25 year old Russian, is an attacking left winger, although can also play at left back, and whilst Scolari was keen for Bridge to stay, he feels Zhirkov is versatile enough to give Chelsea a little more.

    I hope this transfer goes through. Zhirkov is an awesome player. Play him as attacking midfielder instead of useless Malouda. He can also play as left back if A.Cole gets injured.
    We need to use Roman CSKA connections to beat competition for him.

    We have to get a left winger. MAlouda and kalou are continuing their horrible form which they have shown since last season now. So i feel we have to offload these 2 and get zhirkov. He fits perfectly in this Chelsea team. Scolari wanted a dribbler …. here is one for him.
    With bridge gone, he can also play in the left back role and keep that attacking full back option open if anyting happens to ACole.

    whilst i agree malouda is crap, i feel strongly that we should keep Kalou. He even more than joe cole is very worrying for opponents defences simply because he is so unpredictable. he is not a goal scorer and i think hed be great in the lionel messi role of roaming behind the attack.

    Yes Yuri will be a decent signing for us but chelsea should keep kalou he needs support and good advice. He is a skillful player but his final ball is a bit dissapointing at times. Its all up to the coaches to work on that. Remenber Ronaldo in his fist years with united. He is only 23 he will come good soon. For me malouda, Ferreira, Drogba should be sold as well, the later for causing unrest in the dressing room with his continued criticism of the team. Bring in Benzema & Adriano on loan. Fabiano is getting old we are tired of this policy please we need young players.

    Get rid of these two craps maluda and kalou (they are good for nothing) this January and bring Yuri (CSKA), allidier (middlesbrough) and Lavazzi (napoli).

    For summer, sell drogba, alex, evanovic, belleti and bring ben arfa or downing; ribery, eto or luis fabiano or david villa. Chelsea need to change scolari should bring new player who had personal ability then he can play often those trio old lads lampard, deco and ballack. We need creative and forceful players other wise we chelsea fans will sufer, We need to see chelsea play like arsenal. I am feed up seeing those african craps drogba and kalou and those old boys lampard, deco and ballack( they are not creative enough). I miss zola very much. We must bring players like zolla (skill) and terry (passion). Long live chelsea. I would advice the owner to fire peter kenyon he is good for nothing bring other man who know football and passionate enough to change chelsea.

No hard feelings or anything but nowadays they play like crap.Malouda only scores after missing 1,000 clear cut opportunities and Ferreira still doesn’t know how to cross the ball after 12 years of experience as a right back. We should bring in David Silva(valencia) and the new France wonder boy Gomis(st. Etienne). Another push for robinho wouldn’t be bad

    The players never get too pissed on the field, I think they need to show a little more drive, desire, hunger, passion, etc. for the game. I believe getting rid of Malouda, Ferreira, and Ivanovic would be good for the players because they obviously aren’t getting anything accomplished for Chelsea, but it would be a wasted investment for the Blues….

    We need to quit buying lots of players and but buy fewer and better replacements and start developing them…

    first off: is there anymore news on this transfer? it seems to have come and gone quicker than the lavezzi rumor? at least napoli was quick to say no chance. i’d really appreciate an update on this one, looking at zhirkov’s youtube clips, he looks pretty good.

    nextly, i agree with many of you that malouda and Ferreira are crap and should be sold. however kalou should be retained in order for him to grow. he’s only 22ish right?
