Will Scolari See Off Hughes?

Whilst the smart money would be on Mark Hughes being the next manager facing the sack in the Premier League, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Not that we should be surprised of course, because it’s pretty much par for the course around this time of year for the Chelsea manager’s position to be questioned, right? So, none of us will be disappointed to hear that the bookies are running their annual form book on us – after all, why would they look at manager’s like Hughes, steering the richest club in the world out of all competitions and languishing at the bottom of the Premier League, when they can rely on the Chelsea manager who’s still got us sitting second in the table and holding on to places in both the Champions League and FA Cup?

Anyway, such is the momentum gathering pace at the bookies now, that William Hill have had to suspend all bets. I mean, I know we haven’t been in the best of form lately and Abramovich has never been known for his patience where managers are concerned, but isn’t this all a little over the top given that we’re hardly staring a relegation battle in the face?

Apparently not though, because a William Hill spokesman suggests “When you have punters wanting to bet £500 at 10/1 on something which was 50/1 not long ago you have to ask yourself what they may know that you don’t. At that point we decided to suspend the market until we could discover what the motive for the gamble may have been.”

Anyone reckon Sparky was the mysterious punter?

  1. I dont see Scolari being sacked this season or the next either. We now need some stability at the top. Admittedly, we are not playing the best football right now and scolari surely deserves the criticism he is getting. But I still rate him highly and given time he will do good things at the Bridge. We should persist with him for atleast next 2 seasons no matter what the results.
Dont forget the fact that he is still playing with Mohrinio’s players and is not given the free hand with money which Mohrinio got. So lets give him some time.

  2. Well Mark Huges not yet completed his plan for his dream team and all players wish list not yet sign so we can not blame him when he arrived the Man. City club the team is dump since ex-manager so give the time to him for improving the club. Only robinho is the right man that he brought from Real Madrid , yes it’s the man of mark huges so we can see that mark huges sign the best player so why don’t we let him sign more right players for the club I think he’ll bring the trophy for the club if all the players in his wish list can move to Man. City.
