Takeover Talk – Just A Joke?

I was reading all these ‘takeover’ stories about us this morning and having got through several different versions on the same theme, I’ve got to say that my overriding feeling was one of disgust.
I mean just who the fuck do these Arab’s think they are?
Despite Roman Abramovich making it clear he does not want to sell Chelsea, Dr Sulaiman al-Fahim, the man behind the deal that saw Citeh become the richest club in the world appears oblivious to that, stating “It’s not entirely clear if Chelsea are for sale. But regardless of that, we first need to see if we are in a position to buy. Given that Abramovich has invested more than £500million into the club, it would not be cheap. And with the current credit crunch, nobody wants to be over-exposed on one deal. But through a number of investors, there is money available to put together an offer.”
So taking people to court for suggesting he wants to sell the club isn’t enough to make his intentions over the sale of Chelsea clear then? I’d say that was pretty much crystal.
‘But regardless of that, we first need to see if we are in a position to buy’ – what the fuck? Surely if it’s not for sale, it doesn’t matter how much bloody money they’ve got? Their arrogance is just mind-blowing really.
Apparently, this Fahim bloke doesn’t appear to understand plain English either, because despite the fact that Chelsea is not for sale, he’s alleged to have drawn up a proposal with some Swiss-based firm he just happens to chair, and Holger Heims who runs the firm suggests “We have looked before at some European clubs to see if the numbers added up — and now we are doing the same with Chelsea. I can’t go into more details at this stage. But I don’t believe anything is ever not for sale if you come up with the right price.”
Are they all mad or just bloody stupid? Or maybe it really is just the arrogance that comes with such obscene wealth that makes them believe they can get whatever they want?
One thing’s for sure though, with them making statements like this:
“It’s not about trying to buy a football team but about a business. You don’t make money because 11 guys run around the pitch, you make money because of all the other commercial aspects that go with a football club, particularly real estate and television rights.”
I don’t want them anywhere near Chelsea.

Chelsea News 24/7

oh dear oh dear oh dear, poor Abramovich is angry because some people who are richer than him are wanting to buy the premiership title.
whilst you were writing this hypocritical nonsensical bile did you not have the iota of self-awareness needed to realise that this is exactly what Abramovich did back in 2004
the fact he has invested 500M in the club purely proves the point that he has bought the success you have had.
I am sure Chelsea “weren’t for sale” when Roman came in with his Russian blood money created by trampling over the proletariat.
I can’t see that you have any reason to feel dissatisfied in any respect by people wanting to buy chelsea, it isn’t as if Abramovich has ever seen Chelsea as anything more than a business. Something reflected in the consistently uninspiring football you play and the stream of managers you have had over the couple of years.
The main issue I have with this article is your total lack of understanding of anything to do with business. the “500M” Roman injected into the club was based on the assets of the club and was a loan to the business, money he can easily take away again with interest, this effectively means that the consortium in place would have the option to buy the club with the debt (therefore owing Abramovich an amount of this money they could pay him over a period of time and is usually based on the performance of the balance sheet. They would then make a separate offer for the value of the club itself
Bearing in mind Chelsea hasn’t performed at a profit for the last four years it wouldn’t surprise me at all if this goes through bearing in mind Roman is bound to get bored soon,
And lets face it, it wouldn’t be the first time your club have attempted to sodomise the beautiful game in the nature of pure profit.
To believe that Roman Abramovich has any loyalty to the club and views it as anything more than another asset is plain naive. It also surprises me you would “hate these arrogant arabs” despite the fact that on the ladder of tyranny they are at least a couple of rungs above someone who sold out his own family and most of his friends for his own personal gain.
arsenal fan – you don’t think Chelsea was for sale when Abramovich came in? Chelsea was on the verge of financial collapse ffs, of course it was for sale.
And whilst naturally Abramovich saw it as a business opportunity as any businessman would, he clearly gives a shit about the football. Would he have sacked our most successful manager – who was delivering silverware – if he couldnt care less what he was seeing on the pitch? i think thats debatable.
Would he stand in a bar watching us play (when he’s out of the country and cant get to the game), showing exactly the same emotion as the supporters around him if he couldnt be arsed with the football? Im sure a billionaire would have plenty of other things to do if that was really the case.
arsenal fan. – You make a whole load of claims in your email which are based entirely on guesswork or supposition. For example “I am sure Chelsea “weren’t for sale” when Roman came in with his Russian blood money created by trampling over the proletariat” Well actually they were for sale when he bought them, Ken Bates was actively looking for a buyer and i’d hardly call cuddly Ken the proletariat, would you? Also “it isn’t as if Abramovich has ever seen Chelsea as anything more than a business. Something reflected in the consistently uninspiring football you play” How do you know this? How do you know what Roman thinks, do you know him, have you ever heard him say anything other than that he is totally committed to the club for the long term. So who is some jumped up little oik like you to go into print and effectively call him a liar. As for uninspiring football, a)i don’t agree and b) i value winning football above pretty football as do the vast majority of “honest” arsenal fans i know. Finally “it wouldn’t be the first time your club have attempted to sodomise the beautiful game in the nature of pure profit.” What exactly are you referrring to? wasn’t it Arsenal who back in their distant past who secured their place at the top table of football through bribery and corruption.
Sounds to me like you are the one full of bile and hatred and are just dressing up in fake intellectual gumph. probably brought on by the lack of trophies in recent years. Get over yourself, pal, jealousy always looks bad!
Arsenal fan,
You seem to think you know an awful lot about Chelsea but in fact you know absolutely nothing about anything, especially your own under achieving rag bag of cheating frogs.
Do you know for instance that when the Arse were promoted to the top tier of English football in 1919, they did it via corruption, paying a member of the Football League board, a method that stood them in good stead in the premiership later in their history with David Dein holding a position within the FA, pulling strings and all that.
Of course you didn’t beacause none of you Gooners know your own history. You all jumped on the winning bandwagon 10 years ago and now you haven’t won anything for 5, yes count ‘em, years, your all sick.
Why don’t you poke your nose out of Chelsea’s affairs and focus on your ‘club’s’ own squalid carryings on.
And now Abramovich’s official spokesman has come out and said “But Abramovich’s spokesman John Mann has insisted the Russian billionaire has no intention of selling to Fahim’s consortium as he remains fully committed to the club.Asked if Abramovich still loved Chelsea as much as when he bought it for £140m in the summer of 2003, Mann said: ‘Yes, he does — nothing has changed.
‘I can’t get into hypothetical situations as I am not aware of what they (Fahim’s group) are doing.
‘But nothing has changed from our very strong statement on behalf of Chelsea’s owner at the weekend.’That statement — alongside comments from Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon at a fans’ forum — refuted suggestions that Abramovich had any intention of selling up.
He is also expected to underline his long-term commitment to Chelsea when the club’s accounts are revealed next month.
I would say that that is a pretty firm rebuttal of the rubbish arsenal fan spouted in his email and a reasonably strong sign of long term committment.
‘Having no intention of selling the club’, will change if Abramovich can make a huge profit off some muppet of an Arab, who has no idea what he is doing, but wants to get in with Britains Elite!
Buy Chelsea, ask for citizenship, bring the family along….ask Al Fayed he has be trying for years
Realistically anyone (other than a true blue) would sell at a vast profit?
Here is the thing. I dont think this would be a bad idea, because Arabs are highly competitive, and they cant stand losing, not one bit. So they will spend the dollars that are needed to bring the right players over.
Also, at least the people that are trying to buy the team are futbol watchers and fans, and not just some corporate company looking to to bring in megadollars based on promotions and marketing. …My only thing is, is this legal?..Can an owner have a stake in 2 different teams at the same time?
I dont see how it is possible. It would definitely be a conflict of interest , because how could the owner make either team better when it comes to acquiring and releasing players when he owns both teams? He could try and make one team better than the other one, or one team less competitive
than the other one.
I cant see this being a legal situation. Not at all.
