Cudicini Move Imminent?

He’s agreed a deal; we’re not selling him; he’s in talks…… Sounds like the latest adventures in the Didier Drogba saga maybe, and yet it’s not.

This time, the daily speculation is around Carlo Cudicini, with stories initially suggesting he’d already signed for Spurs counteracted by Luiz Felipe Scolari allegedly stating the exact opposite.

However, despite a move for Cudicini meaning Henrique Hilario would end up the best cover Chelsea have available for Petr Cech, the latest news seems to be that the Italian is currently in talks and expected to sign for Spurs today.

We really will end up with the backroom staff on the bench at this rate!

  1. Hope not. Have you seen how fat some of the backroom staff are? LOL

  2. Just wondering who are ye replacing these back up players with? Seems that the flow is going out but nobody coming in to replace them?
Well at least Man City did not buy him then!

  3. Done deal! WTF……Tottenham have snatched Carlo for free. That 1 million they were offering seems like a good money now…doesn’t it?

  4. Sham – this has got to be a first because I agree with you. :)

Whilst we’ve definitely had far too big a squad in the past, it seems we’ve done nothing but sell players since Scolari arrived and in this case, if anything happens to Cech, we’re screwed. Hilario isn’t anywhere near as reliable a back-up keeper as Cudicini has been – not that I blame him for moving on. He’s always been far too good to be sat on a bench anyway.
