Former Chelsea Man Writing Us Off?
Former Chelsea man Tony Cascarino seems to have plenty to say about us this week and none of it good.
Unsurprisingly, his opinion of Didier Drogba is pretty low, with him suggesting “The underlying problem within the camp now seems to be the behaviour of Drogba. To be honest the Chelsea players have had enough of his behind-the-scenes antics. I’m sure the manager would like to get rid of him but the club still wants to get good money.”
Whilst on the subject of money, Cascarino says “Chelsea don’t seem willing to spend so it’s highly unlikely they’ll challenge Manchester United all the way for the title as they seem more likely to sell than to invest. Is this a sign that Roman Abramovich has lost interest? He has lost a lot of money due to the fall in the economy so perhaps he has other priorities. We simply don’t see or hear about him any more which is a worrying sign for the club.”
And finally, another worrying sign for Cascarino is the new Chelsea boss, with him saying “I’ve not been convinced by Scolari this season as he’s been found out on a number of occasions tactically. This is perfectly illustrated by the fact that apart from against Stoke they’ve rarely come back from falling behind.”
Unfortunately, as much as I’d love to say I disagree with the former Chelsea striker – the worry for me is that I can’t!

The problem I find with Chels nowadays isn’t formations, players, coaches, owners, etc… it is the fairweather fans that show day in and day out that they aren’t true blue. Fans were leaving before the Stoke comback! sell your tickets folks, if you are just along to watch a game… i can suggest some lower league games that might suit your fancy.. and let the real fans take their places to root for the best team in the world. how can everyone be so negative? As poorly as we have ’supposedly’ played, we are in 2nd! Look at the bright side, you sods.
jeremyblue - there’s nothing ’supposed’ about our poor play - unfortunately thats how it is. We’ve put in some dire performances this season. Having said that, there’s never an excuse to leave a game early. No matter what the score is, either you’re there to support Chelsea or you’re not. Walking out before the final whistle doesn’t really constitute supporting a club til the end. They did it against Boro the other night as well.
