Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea: Dodgy Decision Decides It?

What a surprise to see the dippers spawn yet another game against us with a dodgy decision.
There’s not a lot of point debating the game itself because the ‘facts’ are Mr Benitez, that the game was won on the strength of a bad decision by Mike Riley.
The usual standard of reffing in a Liverpool-Chelsea game saw them given the advantage of not only playing against ten men but also having our most influential player removed from the game. And the decision aside – which would be completely laughable if it hadn’t cost us a couple of points – the biggest joke is they’ll be kidding themselves this is their year.
So we know there’s no love lost between Lampard and Alonso and the Chelsea midfielder certainly went in hard, but a red card? Do me a favour. He went for, and got, the ball. His follow-through might have caught Alonso but was it dangerous? No. It might have been high, but what was the difference between Lampard and Gerrard’s tackle just minutes earlier? Gerrard’s was over the ball, it was rash, he showed dissent and not even a yellow.
The fact that Frank Lampard was the 5th player to be sent off against Alonso so far this season speaks volumes. The ‘fact’ that Alonso went in pretty hard on Lampard and committed a foul himself was conveniently overlooked by the way.
Liverpool should make no mistake about it, that sending off was the only difference between the two sides, who in all honesty were simply fighting it out for second place this season. We didn’t play well, yet again it must’ve been over an hour before we managed a shot on target and yet Liverpool still needed that decision in order to win at Anfield. Title winners? I don’t think so.
Nicolas Anelka just can’t cut it in the big games for us and as for Didier Drogba, it just defies belief that any player – nevermind a player who’s previous reputation suggested he was made for these games – could come into a game where we’re a goal down with ten men and stroll about. If ever there was a game to sum up exactly how little he cares about Chelsea FC, this was it.
Mind you, as if the game and the decisions in it didn’t piss me off enough, it really wasn’t helped by the disgraceful behaviour of Jose Bosingwa. Yes, we know they’re cheating fuckers and we hate them passionately but to blatantly kick one of them in the middle of the back to prise him away from the corner flag – what is that about? Because whilst I’ve no doubt Lampard’s red will be appealed and most certainly should be rescinded, Bosingwa’s just earnt himself one he completely deserves.
The question was put to Torres after the game as to why Liverpool had again left it so late to beat us, I can’t remember what he said and more to the point, I’m really not interested either. Because let’s face it they had to wait for their twelfth man to play his part – and I don’t mean the crowd, who were almost mute until they scored.
As if they deserved a 2-0 win over us ffs.

Idont think liv dserve the victory…ref red card to Lampard is bullshit…hate EPL
lampard was dumb enuff to go in high on alonso while lying on the ground. contact with ball certainly but he made it look dangerous. so there.. stupidity has no cure really.. so jus accept that he’s dumb
Well, coming from the Liverpool Side and initially starting to read this the word ‘bitter’ came to mind, i agree never a red card for Lampard. However i respect your honesty with Boswingas horendous kick out that has to be followed up because it set a really bad standard.
It was set for a 0-0 however (and not being biast) If one team would nick it and backed up with the stats it would have been us.
lol crowd were mute.. try watching football with the sound on next time. you’ll be surprised how much it adds to the match.
someone shld ask fergie why his team left it late to beat sunderland, stoke, etc..oh wait..thats the hallmark of champions the press would say.. lol if it’s liverpool, then it’s failure to score early. lmao
hahahahahahaha be bitter al you like, you where shocking before lampard got sent off, you still would have lost, you barely got a kick of the ball in the second half, if you want a dodgey decision how about malouda taking out finnan last season and getting a penalty for it!! that was a bad decision, and how about the second commentator? he was as biased as you, thought maybe i was watching sky sports for a minute
you should of had another man sent off you didn’t mention that, or didn’t you see it hahaha, but in all fairness lampard was unlucky.
HAHAHAHAHA…….
I have never read such bitterness.
Chelski were pants today – Liverpool dominated the goalmouth action BEFORE the sending off and deserved the win.
Skrtel and Carra had Anelka in their pockets. And you had no width.
So what if we don’t win it, we aim to push Utd as far as we can and just take every game as it comes.
Any neutral would say ‘pool deserved it on chances created BEFORE the sending off – which we did.
yes, lets look at the ‘facts’ shall we?
“What a surprise to see the dippers spawn yet another game against us with a dodgy decision. ”
Like the dodgy decision when Malouda took a blatant dive in the box last season? how about the numerous games that were decided by a signature Drogba Dive?
“Liverpool should make no mistake about it, that sending off was the only difference between the two sides, who in all honesty were simply fighting it out for second place this season. We didn’t play well, yet again it must’ve been over an hour before we managed a shot on target and yet Liverpool still needed that decision in order to win at Anfield. Title winners? I don’t think so.”
No difference between the teams? You said it yourself it took Chelski over an hour to get a shot on target while Liverpool were in the double digits.
As for Bosingwa i hope that unibrowed thug gets whats coming to him
And the crowd that was “mute until they scored” i have no idea what you are talking about, perhaps you Chelsea fans have learned to tune out “FUUUUUUUCK OFF CHELSEA FC, YOU AINT GOT NO HISTORY”
Welcome to Chelsea’s downfall, Roman’s out, half of your rent-boys will be sold and your sorry little club will soon be battling against relegation instead of the league title
Bitter… FACT!
Shit Decision, Shit Referee.
chelsea. 1 shot on goal over 90mins. nuff said
Of course I’m bitter. Why wouldn’t I be? We had our most influential player wrongly sent off in a game that beyond any doubt was heading for a draw. Yes, we were shit and created nothing and your shots at goal dwarfed ours but were you a goal up before the sending off? No. Did the sending off give you the advantage you wouldn’t have got more than a point without? Yes. How that suggests you ‘deserved the win’ is beyond me. Damn right I’m bitter.
I didn’t realise that Chelsea still had a boys’ pen. Are you for real? You sound like an Evertonian with all this bitterness. If you can only manage one lob, not even a proper shot, on target for the whole game, just how do you reach your conclusions? Lampard was unlucky and will get off, but your left back won’t. You do your club no service whatsoever with your comments and I would hazard a guess that you suffer from premature ejaculation, if you are old enough.
FYAR – course I do, and that has every relevance to this discussion because…..? Actually, even without any recognised strikers Everton have more shots in a game than us, lol. Doesn’t change the fact that Lampard’s wrongful sending off decided the game.
Face it scololari is out of his depth, losing steve clarke and replacing him with RAY WILKINS!!!!!! was a huge mistake. Chelsea have too many 28+ players and no plan B. Utterly destroyed by utd, and comfortably beaten by arsenal and liverpool.
This chelsea team is a shadow of the championship winning team under mourhino. One shot over 90 minutes in a must win game is not the stuff of title winners. I doubt if the russian gangster will bankroll another 300 million spending spree….chelseas time in the sun is coming to an end. FACT !
Mike Riley finshed the game before the real finsh .. :S :@
We battered you before the sending off and after as well; it only made it harder to score as you showed even less invention and ambition (if that was possible) after you went to 10 men! I know most of your fans are new to football, but even Chelsea supporters must have seen that you were soundly beaten today? As for noise I was at the game and believe me it wasn’t quiet!!!
I thought this was a Chelsea Blog !
It is Matt, theyre just a bit precious
Why do Liverpool always sing about history?
It’s because that’s all they’ve got.
Face it boys you’ve never won the Premier League and on performances like that you’re never going to.
Chelsea were proper dire today though, I’d say only Alex and Terry could walk away with any pride. Every time Lamps and Ballack managed to get their heads up they had no options and we are stuck playing the Moriniho formation with Kalou and Malouda as oppose to Robben and Duff (with Cole on the bench). I think it’s time for a bold 442 formation with Drogba and Anelka up front, although this doesn’t solve the problem with our wingers being pish (is there any way we could try and tie Kalou to the touch line) at least Lamps and Ballack would have a target man to hit and flick balls on for Anelka (this is presuming Drogba can still be bothered to jump). This formation would probably involve dropping Ballack in favour of Obi (at least until Essien is fit) but I think it’s the best way to get results.
Better idea – tie Kalou to the bloody bench and be done with it. As for Drogba, he can barely be arsed to walk nevermind jump.
Chelsea were negative from the start and paid the price for it,they can have no complaints.
If you want to win the title, you have to show character…they had none.
Gerrard had a terrible tackle over looked and should be ashamed of himself for being caught diving!
Lampard should not have seen red, but realistically Liverpool were the only team who were going to score
whether he(lampard) was on or off the pitch.
I have said so many times before….the EPL is atrocious….from diving players, to dodgy referees and even worse is the fans who can not see how crap it is!
Man utd will win the league and will probably deserve it, as they are the best of a bad bunch!
As for my club Chelsea…Ballack rotten, Drogba was shameful, cole was laughable,Cech needs to be dropped to wake him up.
Will the fans stop complaining or do something about it though?
For all the Liverpool fans that are crying out for Bosingwa to be banned (and I agree it was a bad foul), if the FA review that and ban him then they have to review the Gerrard and Alonso incidents where both could and should have been sent off. Particularly Gerrard.
Both Alonso and Gerrard must be up for Oscars with all the wonderful acting they put on during the game.
All they lacked was a pink Tutu!!
lol if you think it’s atrocious, you shld stop watching. wat a joke
YES the sending off was wrong….
and YES Liverpool dominated even before the sending off
Chelsea fans, pls dont blame your defeat on the Ref.
Liverpoop fans, dont gloat too much already, still a long way to go and i stil think you’ll finish 3rd, behind UNITED and Chelsea
FPL, what would you call a league where the top four places stay the same year after year…the only real competition is for relegation?
Money wins all…You keep paying your money and getting the same old shite!
Go play in the snow Chelsea D!! As your season is almost over as is the fairytale off being a big club. Must say that I LOL when I read about Chelsea trying to talk about how Liverpool fans are always going on about their History. Is that because it hurts to know that Chelsea does not have as many cups as Liverpool or Man Utd not even Everton or Villa?
I found it also funny that you talk about the ref did change the game! Without one where would the game be? Right or wrong they have a role to play and some times they make a balls of it as Mother Reilly does most games.
By the way are you now say that you are a one man team that Fat Frank is your only player?
One thing as we all can agree on is the money wasted on dopey Drogba would have paid for half of London to have snowploughs on the roads instead of snow!
Think I will make another snowman
Sham – where was it suggested Lampard was our only player? If you literary skills weren’t as poor as your attempt at humour, you’d know Lampard was referred to as our most influential player – which for the first hour against the dippers he was.
As for our season, we may well not win anything but it still finishes in May the same as every other club in the PL.
