Chelsea Come In Late For Quaresma?

The final minutes of the last transfer window saw us lose out on the signing of Robinho to Man City. As the January window prepared to close however, news started to filter through that it was Chelsea planning to nick a player from under another club’s nose.

With Inter Milan confirming earlier they were happy for Ricardo Quaresma to leave, and rumours placing him in the White Hart Lane area, Spurs looked all set to take him to North London. However, with literally half an hour before the official transfer window closed, Sky Sports announced Chelsea were interested in taking the out of favour winger to Stamford Bridge and that Spurs have subsequently satisfied themselves with re-signing Robbie Keane.

It seems that with the snow bringing the country to a halt, the transfer window will remain open for any deals already in progress and the suggestion seems to be that Quaresma could at least secure a loan deal with us before the end of the night.

Is there more to follow? We’ll wait and see……..

    Done deal. Chelsea official website says ” Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce that we have signed Inter Milan winger Ricardo Quaresma on loan until the end of the season. The Premier League have confirmed the deal.”

    It’s good thing he’s on loan….we are not spending money right now.. If he provides good performances for us then we have option to sign him permanently at the end of season.

    Let’s hope he’ll keep Malouda out of the side.

    Yeh, have to agree with you Darshan. My initial thought was ‘why do we wait til he’s shit to bring him to Chelsea?’ but like you said, we haven’t bought him so we won’t lose anything if he’s rubbish.
