Robinho For Drogba Deal: A Great Swap?
Roman Abramovich might well have called a halt to the Robinho proceedings when Man City’s owners made it clear they had no limits last summer, but reports of the Brazilian ending up at Chelsea anyway have refused to go away.
The latest suggestion is that the end of this season will see Robinho leaving Middle Eastlands in a swap deal with Didier Drogba plus around £6million. The only shame about that is that it didn’t happen during the January window really but apparently Hughes was having none of it. However, with Hughes highly unlikely to still be around after this season, his opinion won’t matter.
Robinho is reported to ‘regret’ his move to City already, and indeed why wouldn’t he? I’m sure he was led to believe he wouldn’t be the only big-name signing and that they’d be challenging for a Champions League spot, only to find himself playing mid-table for a club who quite frankly, couldn’t attract flies right now.
Mind you, any deal to bring Robinho to Chelsea would have to involve a pay-cut because even Roman Abramovich won’t be agreeing to his current £160,000 a week salary, although we’re told this has already been considered with a plan to bolster his pay with an improved image rights deal. Anyway, one of them ‘source’ people suggests “It is all very complicated and there’s a lot of people involved. Some things could get ugly but Robinho will end up a Chelsea player in the summer.”
I have to say that when I first heard this story, I was against it on principle because whilst I certainly don’t think much of Drogba, I don’t think Robinho is any less of a mercenary. However, having seen Drogba turn in yet another performance that highlighted exactly how little he cares about Chelsea yesterday, I’d have to say Robinho, who can’t exactly be overjoyed at City and yet still manages to put some effort in, looks like a bloody good alternative.

Chelsea News 24/7

first of all i dont think robinho would be eligible to play if he had moved to Chelsea in january. FIFA has some rule about not being able to play for more than two teams in the course of one year. and because robinho participated in the spanish equivalent of the community shield with Real Madrid, Chelsea would be team numero 3.
but as far as a swap deal goes, i totally agree with Chelsea D, Robinho would be more useful than drogba who honestly couldnt give a squirt of piss about Chelsea. the only thing i think would have to happen is a nice heart to heart between Chelsea and Robinho upon his arrival about team rules and vacation policies
i think the problem with Chelsea and Scolari specifically this seasons is that Scolari has been coaching national teams for close to a decade now, and at a national level managers have time to be meticulous, pick and choose exactly who they want and 90% of the time they get it their way. He has stepped in to a Chelsea team where its not a team he created and the players are just waiting to retire. example Ballack ((The idea that Ballack wants to finish his career with us is stupid to me, the way his playing, he should move to a second class team in Germany and forget about getting the kind of pay he is with us, he almost seemed as disconnected as Drogba last night, and that awful pass!!!)) I think the best way to move forward for Chelsea is to decide whether we want to keep Scolari or not ( i think we should, if in our worst season we are still 3rd in the Table, and in the Champions league with so many problems in the team he is not doing everything wrong as people are suggesting) I believe he has the experience to create something truly wonderful at Chelsea given the chance, slower than we would like but still something wonderful. The way I look at it, in our worst seasons we are still not doing as bad Arsenal, we still have a chance to finish second, which I believe we will behind United.
oh i forgot, my point was that if Scolari wants him we should get him, I think Robinho will do very good under Scolari, But we should only get him if we Keep Scolari.
If there is any truth to this rumor, the swap should be a no brainer.
This is no news it cant happen Drogba for Robinho even if Drogba is injured they cant exchange him for Robinho.Robinho is good and he prefer Man City than Chelsea. So it can happen
i think having robinho for drogba would be a good piece of business for us.droba has shown that he has lost all the love he has for chelsea.
I think having my wife instead of Drogba would be progress..
