Lampard Red Card Ruled Out

The FA regulatory commission got together at Soho Square earlier today and needless to say, rescinded the joke of a red card shown to Frank Lampard against the dippers on Sunday.
We all knew Lampard had won the ball in the challenge with Xabi Alonso, who’s clearly been taking lessons from team-mate Stevie Me when it comes to kidding referees, and fortunately, having actually taken a look at what Riley blindly brandished his red card about for at the weekend, the FA have upheld Chelsea’s appeal, with a spokesman confirming “At an independent regulatory commission hearing today, a claim for wrongful dismissal from Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard was upheld. As a result, Lampard’s three-match suspension has been withdrawn.”
We’ve yet to hear any kind of explanation from Mike Riley on what exactly he thought he saw and it all feels a bit late in the day now with three points lost but at least it means Lampard will now be available for Saturday’s game at home to Hull and our games away at Villa and then Watford in the FA Cup.

Riley should be suspended for 3 matches himself with no pay. Maybe doing something like that will deter refs from making stupid decisions that effect the teams seasons.
Think about it… dropping at least 2 points (i feel this one was headed to a 0-0 draw) by having to play a man down for 30 minutes on the road is a disgrace to the game. I see this happening more and more and it seems like it happens to Chelsea the most. Red cards should be given when there is no doubt. If there is any doubt, then its not a red. Anyone who has played a game could see that play was not a red or even a foul on Lampard. If anything Alonso should have been given the red for studs up tackle on Lampards shin. He didnt even touch the ball!!!
Having the league being decided by refs who obviously dont know what is going on the field is ridiculous. Riley has given something like 4 or 5 red cards in 16 games?? That is insane. No wonder why the players dont respect the refs… most dont deserve any!!
Look how many red cards have been over turned this year for Chelsea. Terry’s and Lampard’s that I can think of. They are being forced to play men down for, what is later on to be determined incorrectly, periods of crucial games.
I understand the refs have a tough job and the game is fast paced with people diving all over the place, but if you can’t deal with things on the field, then dont be a ref! It is only making the game horrific, especially when it only happens to you team or it seems that way. Let the players play and keep the reds in the pocket for truely maliscious tackles or an accuulation of 2 yellows.
Mike Riley sucks ass and should be demoted to the coalship!!
/yet another rant
ps- on a good note… at least we picked up Quaresma… maybe he can help????????
I think Riley missed the first part of the tackle and only saw Alonso go flying.
Quaresma can’t do any worse than Malouda.
If Riley didnt see it then he had no right giving a red card.
Off-topic:
Lampard’s red card has been taken back but it does not matter now as the match cant come back.
Similarly, I was knocked out of the fantasy cup due to this controversy.
^Exactly. He can’t take guesses in important matches. A yellow might have been fine, but not a red.
The challenge system should be implemented in football to reduce the number of blunders refs make. Rob McNicohol has written very well about this- http://www.football365.com/referee365/0,17033,8747_4890670,00.html
Good thing Lamps’ ban has been lifted. I just can’t see us playing Aston Villa without him.
