The closing of yesterday’s transfer window saw Chelsea bring in Ricardo Quaresma on loan from Inter Milan but that wasn’t the only bit of transfer news, even if the rest was outgoing.

Leyton Orient managed to get in before the transfer deadline to take Jimmy Smith on loan for the rest of the season.  Even at 22, the midfielder doesn’t get a look in for us although his Championship experience with QPR, Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday, has Orient boss Kevin Nugent suggesting “Jimmy is joining from Chelsea and he will be a good addition to the squad. He has great ability and can play anywhere across the midfield, so his versatility will also prove to be an asset.”

Scott Sinclair meanwhile, has extended his loan spell with Birmingham City – also until the end of the season. Whilst 18 year old Sergio Tejera has joined Real Mallorca on loan, with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season. Tejera joined Chelsea from Espanyol three years ago, although presumably hasn’t turned into quite the prospect Chelsea thought he might and Mallorca confirmed the loan deal before yesterday’s deadline.
