And The Next Chelsea Manager Is…….?

So, with the search for a new manager already underway according to Chelsea and rumours suggesting we could have one as soon as next week, who do we fancy and more to the point, who’d be brave (or stupid) enough to take it on now?
Guus Hiddink
A favourite with the bookies and was highly linked before Scolari came along and his pedigree in Europe is certainly good enough – impressive even, in comparison to our former boss. Mind you, just like in the summer, it seems Hiddink, who’s just signed a new deal with Russia, has again ruled himself out as a candidate.
Gianfranco Zola
Might be a popular choice with the supporters and he’s doing ok at West Ham but in all honesty, he’d be nuts to take the job on. He doesn’t have the experience under his belt yet and if it all went tits up, the legend status that he’s tested already by defecting to the Hammers could be tarnished forever.
Jose Mourinho
Definitely our most successful manager to date and I’ve no doubt there’s plenty of supporters out there who’d welcome him back with open arms. Not that his motivational skills wouldn’t go amiss at Chelsea right now but I can’t see Roman wanting a return to the circus that goes with it. Besides, why would TSO want to come back when he’s sitting at the top of Serie A right now, awaiting Inter’s adulation?
Frank Rijkaard
Linked last time round, although wanted to take a break after his spell at Barca. Has had success as a player and a manager, in the league and Europe. Personally I’ve always thought he was a complete arsehole but then I thought that about Mourinho before he came to Chelsea, so what do I know? This one wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.
Roberto Di Matteo
A real favourite of mine during his time at Chelsea and has done a great job at MK Dons but, like Zola, it’s too early in his management career.
Avram Grant
Seems to be another favourite with the bookies for some sick reason. Came out of last season looking rather more covered in glory than he should have considering the players had carried him for the duration. All I can say is, please NO!
Roberto Mancini
He wasn’t sacked by Inter for no reason. Far too big an ego to manage the dressing room and if we want anything resembling attacking football, he really isn’t the man to deliver it.
Alan Curbishley
An English manager – now that’d be a novelty! I can’t see it somehow.
Sven Goran Eriksson
Another manager who’s been linked with us before. I didn’t want him managing us then and I don’t want him now either.
Ray Wilkins
Do me a favour! Having him in charge temporarily is bad enough!

nice analysis!!!!!!
Best bet at the moment is Guus Hiddink but I wonder if he will want to leave his job at the Russian national team to take chelsea even when he is sure to be sacked if things go wrong.
The main problem with Chelsea is the interference from the owner and not the coach/manager. Abramovich is got to accept he knows nothing or little about the game and allow Kenyon who knows much about the game run the club.
Just my two cents from a none Chelsea but lover of Chelsea players ;D

so we are a team that kicks a manager out without even being sure who we are going to replace him with? wow we do deserve to win everything!!! so planned and organized!!!!
The one thing I wish would happen, ( WISH ) is that Scolari somehow winds up at Man City, gets the backing he needs and we can see finally whose fault it really was.
The Russian FA have given Chelsea permission to approach Hiddink, as he’s said this when asked about managing Chelsea now;
‘I must say that this is an exceptional situation.
‘If it was any other club aside from Chelsea my answer would be a straight no.
‘But Chelsea is different because I have good relations with the owner. So I would like to help them in this situation if I could.
‘But this would only be for the next two or three months until the end of the season.
‘Of course when Russia would play (World Cup qualifiers) I would go there to coach them during that (international window) as there won’t be any (league) games during that time.
‘I have already done that (combining two jobs) a couple of years ago when I was coaching Australia and PSV, so I’m familiar with the situation and what it takes.
‘I will not leave my job with the Russian national team. It’s out of the question.
‘When I took the Russia job it was a long-term project and I don’t like to leave it unfinished.’
So, we’ll most probably be getting Hiddink for the short-term and possibly when our entire squad will get an overhaul over the summer, possibly Zola and Clarke will make the dream return!
