It was only a couple of weeks ago I was singing the praises of Gael Kakuta as one of our most promising young players. The 17 year old has attracted his fair share of attention from both inside and outside Stamford Bridge.

So, it was totally gutting to hear yesterday that the French youngster has suffered a horrific injury in what shouldn’t have been much more than a kickabout. It seems that in a ‘friendly’, Gael Kakuta has broken both his leg and his ankle and could now face the next year of his career recovering from it.

Totally gutted for him and I for one hope he makes a full recovery.
