After all the excitement about Michael Essien’s return in a reserves game Monday night and the prospect of seeing him back for the first team against Juventus next week, it seems it was all a little premature.

What we’re hearing now is that Chelsea’s medical department aren’t in any great hurry to push Essien into a senior game because it’s still considered too much of a risk.  So, it looks as if even with the midfielder having been out since September, the wait goes on……….
