Petr Cech might not have enjoyed his best ever season with us, in fact he definitely hasn’t, but that doesn’t mean we’d fancy being without him. So it’s probably just as well he’s turned his nose up at a move to the Nou camp.

Rumour has it he’s been taking Spanish lessons and with Barca’s vice-president suggesting “Of course, we have been discussing new signings.   It is no secret that the goalkeeper is not our strongest link at the moment”, it’s not really surprising the press started speculating about a move for the Chelsea keeper.

However, Cech’s agent has immediately put paid to any further stories, stating “We know of the interest but Petr is very happy at Chelsea and has one of the best contracts there. Him learning Spanish has nothing to do with Barcelona. Petr loves languages and he is good at them.  He and his wife are expecting their second child, are happy in London and Chelsea will hardly release him.”

Reckon that’ll stop the press?
