Are Liverpool Really The Club To Avoid In The Champions League?

Last season saw us finally break the Liverpool curse in the Champions League to get ourselves into the final and after the fighting spirit we showed against Juventus, Frank Lampard thinks we’ve rediscovered the vital ingredient we’ll need if we’re to keep going in the competition. Lampard says “I think the spirit we’ve had for the last five years, at times this season we maybe didn’t quite have it — and it showed. But I think on Tuesday night, and in the last five or six games, we showed that when we’re together, when we’ve got the spirit, when we’ve got the quality in the team, we can go wherever we want.”
Mind you, fighting spirit or not, he doesn’t fancy playing Liverpool again. The Chelsea midfielder suggests “Maybe Liverpool don’t want to play us either. I think everyone’s a bit fed up of that one. But fate says it could happen and we’ll see. If it happens, you have to deal with it.” And he’s got a point hasn’t he? I mean Liverpool v Chelsea in the Champions League has been done to death surely? I know I’m sick to bloody death of it (unless we beat them obviously!).
Having said that though, I know they thumped Real Madrid but I still think if there was a choice I’d rather them than Manchester United, then again, I’d fancy Arsenal even more.
