Mourinho Using Quaresma To Get To Carvalho?

We all know how much Jose Mourinho likes to spend money so it comes as no surprise to hear he wants to make £70million worth of changes at Inter – no doubt to tighten up their defensive play.

One of the former Chelsea manager’s signings of the summer happened to be Ricardo Quaresma although for whatever reason (maybe he was too attack minded?), things didn’t work out, leaving him available to join us on loan. And now, the suggestion is that the Portuguese winger could be used as a bargaining tool for Ricardo Carvalho.

You see, Mourinho seemed to want Quaresma enough for Inter to lash out £20million on him at the time and having changed his mind almost as quickly as he dismantles title winning side, oddly enough he’s decided it’s a defender he actually wants.

Now why doesn’t that come as a surprise?

  1. You haven’t fallen into that trap have you? the media brainwashing that we played crap boring football under Jose?

Jose was far more of an entertaining manager that what Grant, Scolari and Hiddink are together………..on and off the pitch

  2. Chelsea Steve – I didn’t fall into any trap. Watching the football we played in our last season under Mourinho is what convinced me it was boring.

  3. You mean the season we were competing for all 5 trophies? yep, we’ve had far more entertainment since!

  4. We compete for all the trophies every season, whether its Mourinho managing us or not – isnt that what every top 4 club does?

The fact is, he didnt win any of the big prizes in his last season. Why? because by then, he’d sold off some of our better, attacking players – players who’d walked it to the title – and turned us into a solid side defensively, with the flair element discarded.

Yes, he was still competing in his last season but after the initial euphoria of back-to-back titles were his defensive tactics still as entertaining or as successful? I’d have to say no.

And wouldn’t you call a Champions League final entertaining? Again, a more exciting end to the season than Mourinho’s last term with us.
