Should Ballack Go In The Summer?

According to recent reports, Jurgen Klinsmann is pretty keen on taking Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack back to Bayern Munich in the summer.
The 32 year old had reassured us earlier this season he’d be happy to see out his career at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea were allegedly planning to offer him a performance-based contract on a yearly basis when his current one runs out in the summer.
I still think the idea of performance related contracts are the way to go with our older players because even though Chelsea are keen to offer the one-year extension written into his current contract as an option, with the midfielder on £130,000 a year and not performing as well this season as we’d like, it doesn’t exactly represent value for money.
So, if we’re unable to tie him to that sort of contract, then maybe the German’s loss of form this season would suggest that summer could be the time to let this particular ageing player move on?

YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO!YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO! YES HE SHOULD GO!
Yup, either he should take the performance- based contract, or leave. He’s done very well in the past, but now he just isn’t playing good enough. Deco should leave as well (which he very well might). We’ll have Mikel, Essien and Lamps for the central midfield; and we’ve got some talented youngsters as well who can play at midfield.
agreed deco should be sold to the highest bidder. but i think we should nab ballack with a short performance based contract and slowly start subbing in M.Stoch. that way our youth get the experience and ballack remains a happy german in blue.
As much as I would like for them to stay…I don’t think they would help in the long run…Deco has that annoying hamstring problem and Ballack is too sluggish and gives away possession too often. Along with those two I think Malouda should be allowed to leave as well…I’ve always been a fan of Malouda since he came in the summer, but I don’t think the EPL is his style…Anyway after getting rid of them, the reserves might see some action or we would have some money to spend in the summer…
Thats not a bad idea Brian. Stoch looks a good player but I can’t see us throwing him in for the entire season, so maybe Ballack on a performance based contract for one more season wouldn’t be a bad idea.
