Ancelotti Linked For Summer

Carlo Ancelotti may have ruled himself out of the Chelsea manager’s job in the past but if recent rumours are anything to go by, that’s all set to change.
Ok, it was in The Sun, so there’s no need to get too carried away with the story but according to them, Ancelotti has ‘promised’ Abramovich he’ll take over from Guus Hiddink in the summer. What we’re being told is that Ancelotti might not have been ready to give up at AC Milan when Scolari was given the big-e but he knows his days at the San Siro are done now.
Them bloody ‘sources’ get in everywhere and the ones at AC Milan reckon an agreement has been reached that’ll bring Ancelotti to Stamford Bridge in a contract worth around £5.8million a season.
Of course there’s a couple of obstacles to get over first, both with Real Madrid fancying Ancelotti as their next manager, and with Milan maybe wanting a hefty compensation pay-out but it’s alleged Ancelotti has already got the go ahead from Silvio Berlusconi.
I don’t know about anyone else though but the idea of Ancelotti taking over at Chelsea doesn’t exactly excite me much.

what would excite me is hiddink signing a 5 year contract and roman compensating the russian FA monetarily and by convincing them to go with advocaat or someone.
1. Will he be able to control the massive egos in the dressing room?
2. Will he be flexible enough with the tactics?
3. Will he be able to blend the youngsters in the first team. and 4. most importantly, Can this guy speak proper English??
According to me, all of answers would be NO. Somehow the pessimistic part of me tells me this has disaster of Scolari proportion written all over it.
It’s a real shame that we cannot keep Guus!
Agree with you and Darshan. This appointment is unlikely to prove a great move for Chelsea. Yes, it would be fantastic if Guus would stay on. Sure, Essien’s return has been pivotal, but he totally out foxed Benitez in the first leg… and even managed to find that illusive “plan b” formation for us.
