Ancelotti Appointed

Who says Chelsea aren’t consistent?
We consistently appoint managers don’t we? And today is one of many days in Chelsea history where we’ve done just that. As predicted, the new man in Chelsea’s hotseat is Carlo Ancelotti.
As ever when they appoint a manager, the club are said to be “delighted” to have signed the former AC Milan coach on a three year contract, which if we’re honest is a little optimistic. But anyway, a statement from the club says ”Carlo was the outstanding candidate for the job. He has proved over a long period his ability to build teams that challenged for, and have been successful in, major domestic and European competitions. He also had a highly successful playing career in those championships and therefore brings unparalleled all round experience to the job. We are sure everybody at Chelsea will give him a warm welcome and we are all looking forward to working with him.”
Think I’ll hold off on the champagne for now.

Chelsea News 24/7

i have to be honest, ancelotti was not my first choice for new Chelsea manager. even though he has one 2 champions league titles, he enjoyed little other success in his eight year tenure at AC Milan. not to mention the language barrier, that lead to much despair under scolari’s reign.
i honestly hope i am left eating my own words this time next year and that ancelotti brings glory to the Blues.
I am hoping Roman has got it right with Carlo. If his intuition is as good as with Guus… exciting times looming?
yeah just noticed “one” should be “won.” gimme a break, it’s early
Sorry Lads,
Just awaking up after watch FA cup!!!
Watch paint dry now!!
It’s the door sign on the Chelsea manager door.
Think it is a waste of money as a dry wipe board would be a better investment!!
Ancelotti has already stated that your midfield needs class not physical players.
Plus the way he was tap up before the he signed show the Chelsea way again but will he stamp his way on Chelsea or get stamped on with the rush of players out of Chelsea??
Perhaps John Terry will learn from this manager before he gets him the sack!!!
Peter are you going to wear your Liverpool top when you go to watch them???
No one can judge Ancelotti’s management until next season starts. Just hope that he knows what to do with Chelsea.
I wish that Guus could have accepted the appointment. The team were not that far away this year and in my view do not need wholesale changes but need someone who can get the best out of the group. The resurgance of Drogba and improvement of Malouda demonstrrate that point.
I’m not a fan, but I’ll get behind Carlo – but I really think that Roman may have lost some followers – perhaps he should pay more attention to what the fans say, as Ancelotti was not a popular choice for some.
tRue_Blues is pretty much right – we have to wait.
But in the meantime we can speculate! I was concerned about his domestic record – one Scudetto doesn’t seem a good enough return. But his autobiography comments really got me worried. Aside from most of them being really misguided, the idea that he thinks our central midfield is our area of weakness – and that Alonso was the player to fix it – is terrifying.
We’ll have to see what happens and who gets signed. Reasonably priced young winger, please Carlo…
No doubt all Blues fans will fall in line behind Carlo.
Zola would have been my preference. He’d arrive with little baggage, a track record that says “good football, chelsea legend” ~ and all that.
I also wanted us to sign Gourcouf ~ which is unlikely given that Carlo let him go out on loan from AC.
I am not willing to make a decision just yet as I would have preferred Martin O’neill as some of these foreign managers can not handle the media pressure, negative supporters (Hello Sham) and players with Huge Egos!
Martin O’neill has consistently proven he can work with all sorts of players and get the best from them.
I will give the guy time as I would expect the same!
Sham, sorry the cup final bored you, but if you were waiting for Man city…you would be sleeping forever!
As for Liverpool sham, I have the open mind, which allows me to watch all sorts of footy, even Man city, if they can manage a trip abroad, maybe not in any competition, but maybe a wee tour somewhere?
Sham, I could not resist copy and paste of this article from Gareth Barry…
Barry, who is in the England squad for World Cup qualifiers on Saturday and next Wednesday, claimed that his main reason for wanting to leave Villa in 2008 was to play Champions League football.
However, a year on, Barry believes he is joining a club with purpose.
“It didn’t take much persuasion from Mark Hughes, they are heading in the direction I want to go,” he added.
But City finished six places and 22 points behind this season’s top four in the top flight, all of whom qualify for Europe’s elite club competition.
City will not even contest the Uefa Europa League after Everton, Villa and Fulham took the three places available to English clubs.
……
Bloody hell Sham, even you can work out that this guy is confused…first he wants champions league football, then he states City are going places….they are not even in the Europa Cup….how is that going places.
Why is he not honest enough to admit he is after the cash and praying like mad that City don’t sack too many managers trying to get into the Europa cup next year;-)
I will take a bet with Sham now that City do not finish in the top 3 next season and will gladly send a cheque to the charity of your choice for 50 quid…and you can do the same if you lose?
I don’t care how much money they have…they may make the Europa cup positions next year, but champions league….dream on mate.
Peter, one answer and you should know about this one! Barry is only after the money !!!
If Barry want to play CL he would have signed for Liverpool last year or this year.
However do you think Chelsea can make the top 3 next year?? Last year Big Phil was going to win ye the lot and he did F A
Not FA cup but Fuck All
Steve Bruce changes clubs quicker than Cisse hair style how long before he ends up in the blue of Chelsea as part of the manager merry go round. Now thats a bet for you but try Paddy Powers he gives odds.
As for betting with you I do not bet even on sure things
However send on the cheque to a any childrens charity if you feel like.
Good to see Barry is after the money and still confused as he thinks Man City will make the champions league….
I would love to see Man city in the Champions league and part with 50 quid and as I said you can do the same….sure thing or not.
Have a bit of faith and not a lot of mouth? Don’t bet with me, bet on Man City? I don’t want the money…but some charity would be grateful….now that is a sure thing!
P.s
F.A is better than Sweet F.A which you had this year;-)
it’s not the start of the season or the middle that matters…it’s the end eh? We will see at the end of next season…
Peter you are a bit slow on he up take must be you age !!
I do NOT BET nothing to do with soccer teams or any other sport but I have never being a betting man or will I be. I can tell that you do not spend most of your free time giving back to sport but wasting time in the bookies.
As you seem to enjoy a bet give it instead too charity you will have done some thing good as you tell me that you have loads of Money to fuck about with!
Sham,
I am not a gambler, far from it, but was trying to see whether you had faith in what you trap on about or were generally full of shit? I will let you draw your own conclusions (make up your own mind)!
Humility is the key where charity is concerned and this was a fun gesture as many people partake in similar.
I see that Arsene wenger thinks City may break into the top four…he seems more confident than you!
Have a good summer, I am off to the Junior World cup in Sweden, In which my son is playing…so you can see I spend my free time wisely!
