Glen Johnson The First Of Many To Turn Liverpool Down?

So the latest we’re hearing on Glen Johnson seems to be that despite Liverpool being interested in him as well, his preference could be a return to Stamford Bridge.  Maybe not so surprising though, considering the prospects don’t look quite as favourable at Anfield now.

Fair play to them, they’ve just had one of their better seasons – in terms of league position anyway – although even with the squad they had available then, came away empty handed. So, with money looking a bit tight there now and Rafa probably facing a summer of disappointment if he’s hoping to compete in the transfer market, Liverpool might find they don’t quite have the pull they need.

It’s not as if Rafa hasn’t whinged about this before now (what doesn’t he whinge about?), he’s previously blamed the club’s apparent lack of conviction for him missing out on players like Didier Drogba, although I guess that was leveled at Parry who won’t be around now. Mind you, his job is one that is yet to be filled, so it’s not clear who’ll be doing the hiring and firing yet – or more to the point, where the money will be coming from, because with Liverpool rumoured to be losing something like £1million a month, it’s unlikely America’s answer to Bill and Ben will be throwing their dollars around.

Quite amusing really, seeing as it was always us expected to go tits-up, what with us just being Roman’s plaything and all. And now, whilst even in the middle of the credit crunch, after a couple of years of pretty conservative spending Roman appears ready to once again replenish our squad, ‘poor’ old Liverpool are going cap-in-hand to the bank just to hold off the debts they already have outstanding.  So Liverpool will have to hope Rafa’s good at making do because with a mere £10-15million available to him this summer, there won’t be another Torres coming in.

In fact, if anything, Rafa could end up losing rather than gaining players. He’s already seen last year’s target, Gareth Barry, go to Eastlands and he could well see Xabi Alonso exit during the summer as well. So what sort of player will he attract to Anfield – bearing in mind the promise of a spanking new stadium is another one that doesn’t look like being fulfilled any time soon now? We already know Barry’s gone to City and Glen Johnson might well come to us, so how does Rafa persuade his targets otherwise?

It’s not even as if they only have the likes of us, Manchester United, Real Madrid etc, to worry about though because in terms of finances (if nothing else), clubs like City and even Portsmouth now, can outbid any of us  in terms of transfer fees. Good job they’ve got their history to fall back on!

  1. well see m8 well see

  2. Hahahaha, scared or something. You should focus on your own affairs.
Liverpool have never had more than 20 million net to spend any season so nothing has changed.
You can’t buy heart, guile and composure so gawd knows what you renters are gonna do.
Enjoy the expensive scrap for 3rd with Man City, Everton and Arsenal you bewildered blue.

  3. You lot are absolutely obsessed with Liverpool. How will you feel spending another 100 million and still not winning the european cup. Andelotti won’t last until the end of the season. Your a laughing stock in world football. Classless, and with no history. Its making you bitter. What other fan site writes a whole article about an opposition team HAHAHAH.

Enjoy the plastic flags roman buys ya next season!

  4. Stop talking about issues you have no idea about, and concentrate on your own club.

  5. It’s nice to see you are still worried about us. Let’s face it Liverpool are a younger better team than Chavski and will continue to get better, Chavski is full of 30+ year olds and you will need all Romans riches to rebuild your ailing squad. Lets hope Carlo is as good as big Phil. On a side note, Iniesta’s goal was brilliant though, how I cheered when that one hit the back of the net. Ha ha ha ha ha ha, quality.

  6. Poor Journalism. Sounds like sour plums for coming 3rd, no history and FOREVER, in Lverpool’s shadow.

  7. Haha, Chelsea fans, does anyone even care what they think?

They’re the most insignificant fans in football.

Add Johnson to your plethora of overpriced mercenary right backs.

  8. Nice to see a chelsea fan so concerned with liverpool, glen johnson is a chelsea reject and we dont want him. LFC out performed chelsea and the league last year and it obviously hurts.

  9. well… a bit odd you think that Johnson is going back to you after Mourinho treated him like a piece of used toilet paper some years ago when he went to Portsmouth (well once a blue always untrue, ey?;)…
Well you might (just might) also remember that Liverpool took the double over you and Man U (they got away with two draws against us). And one thing I have truly respected about Rafa (besides maybe being the biggest tactican around these days) is that he is one of the best men out on the transfer market. If you take away Keane and many of the other big flops at Anfield, which Perryinsisted to go for, Benitez has only done one major mistake on the transfer market, which is Dossena.
The best examples are Alonso (10 mill from Real Sociedad), Agger (5 mill from Brondby) and Torres (20 mill from Atlético). Alll these are after my opinion top shelf players, especially Torres. And if I don´t have a bad memory Abramovic was the owner of CFC in the period LFC bought all these players, right? All of these three players would strengthen CFCs squad considerably, but due to shaky managers, except Mourinho in his prime and Hiddink, CFC did not buy these players.
That´s why I´m sure that Liverpool, and Rafa will manage very well in the transfer market this season too. Remember it´s not about the size on the sausage who matters, it is how you use it, and Chelsea don´t unfortunately, looking at small, weak players like Pato and Kaka, which most certaintly wont have the capacity to compete in about 50-60 hard matches with Chels(ki)…

    Keep it Goonerish….

  10. Correct me if i am wrong but i don’t think liverpool are actually making losses , more they have to pay hugh interest on their loans. But is that any different from Utd ? , and nobody is worried about them. And I doubt that this debt came as a surprise or out of the blue , they have been aware of it for months and months and known their transfer budgets. Fair enough , laugh at them now but things have a habit of coming back on you so lets worry about ourselves and who cares about them

  11. I hope being so smug comes back to bite you on the bum

    lawrie
    (Liverpool supporter)

  12. LOL… jump on the knock Liverpool bandwagon. We have a great squad and are seriously on the up. Benitez wants rid of Alonso and is playing Madrid so that they’ll end up paying 30m plus.

  13. You don’t know what you are ranting about! Players turn down many teams, just like Kaka will be going to Madrid not Chelsea, off course Chelsea didn’t bid for him, didn’t they?

  14. Must be great having a Russian sugar daddy to loan you £700 million. So if he only expects 300 million of it back how do you still expect to repay him before he kicks the bucket? Your average Gate is less than us. Your wage bill is a lot more than us. I look forward to the shoe shine boy to get bored and leave the rent boys. Will you be the next Leeds united? No you’ll be much worse.

  15. You have a rich owner who buys success and you suddenly think that Chelsea is a big club…..laughable really.

It’s also funny that you end with the word ‘history’ – something that this little club doesn’t have. Well, certainly not in the same vein as the Liverpool’s and Man Uniteds of the world and even Everton, Spurs, Villa and Arsenal come to that.

Best you spit that lemon out and ditch some of the bitterness eh pumpkin

  16. Just shws from your article, how obsessed you are of liverpool. Remind me again, which transfer targets has been missed. Barry was target last season and chose champions league football at eastlands this summer. Which players have you actually bought or better still how many managers since Rafa at Anfield, cos Roman wants champions league and if he doesn’t get it in the next couple of seasons, he will be off. So keep waving your plastic blue flags, your fantasy might become just a fantasy. By the way Kaka has signed for Real. Tell Carlo.

  17. We gunners support you in that case, Ynwa. ;)

  18. It is great, yes. Must have been fairly pleasant having John Moores and the Littlewoods money bailing you out back in the day too. Bigger crowds? Yeah by maybe 3,000 but balance that against matchday revenue and you’re way short. Add the attractiveness of the Bridge as an event location and Anfield is left way behind. All those years of glorious history (well only since the 60s but hey, who cares, right?) and where did all the money go? Rent boys. Herm.

  19. Suggest you keep your comments to your own failing club as with Liverpool FC we always end up on the up side of things unlike Chelski who cannot keep a manager with the medling heirachy

  20. U chelsea fans are mugs tin pot club yeah all that dough and we still finished above u do us a favour mate and jog on

  21. The current financial situation at Liverpool, despite the debts, is actually far healthier than that of Chelsea.

When Roman calls it a day and HE WILL, Chelsea will need an 80,000 seater stadium FULL EVERY GAME just to sustain itself, without that sort of revenue it would generate, the wages bill alone would put Chelsea in a position where they would have to sell the entire squad just to stay in existence.

The day will come when Chelsea will be looking to rebuild it’s squad with championship players.

Enjoy the mega wealth while it lasts, it WILL go tits up sooner rather than later.

I’m sure the scousers will be right back here when it does as will most of the country.

Chelsea are a time bomb that is well and truly ticking away.

  22. why all this obsession with liverpool? dont worry about our financial situation, were not! we finished above you, and not a russian billionaire in sight!. we will overcome the money difference by good management, and a commited team, just ask your new manager! , and yes we can rely on our history, because the fact is we have one! go get some therapy, jealous muppet! 5 TIMES, 18 TITLES! HE HE!

  23. Well said ynwa man u are in debt of nearly 1 billion pounds we lose 40 mill and are apparently gonna go down the toilet. Even wayne Rooney could work out which club is more in the crapper

  24. They’re obsessed because they’re desperate for a rival to justify their faux status among the elite. Even with all that cash and recent success, no one really respects them like they grudgingly do us.

  25. Money doesn’t buy you respect or trophies.

Nobody respects Chelsea and you’ve yet to touch that glaming Champions League trophy. Given you’ve won 2 Premier League Titles, but come back when you’ve been a Chelsea fan for more than 5 years and are even halfway to our 18.

    Jealously must hurt so much!

    18 times. Fact.
    5 times. Fact.

  26. Ah yes your illustrious ‘istory .Fast becoming a fading history. Old Etonians and Preston spring to mind. I was going to say Blackburn but they actually have a Premier League title. Your most recent newsworthy actions have been your squalid behaviour in Athens and Brussells. Robbing tickets from Kids hands and the less said about Heysel the better. God knows you lot have chosen to forget it instead indulging in your annual campaign for justice for something you were entirely responsible for yourselves. So as you would so charmingly say ( scousers are soooo charming) Jog on lads…………..

  27. wow, a chelskis rentboy fan writing about liverpool fc, it tells you how much they concern about the mighty reds, last time i checked, the chelskis got a bigger debt than us, and I am very certain you chelskis rentboys and russian whores will be sucking our dick next year by hiring ancelotti, hahahahahha, We are going for 19th

  28. Yet another snoozefest from the chav scum.

Steven Cohen is your mascot HAHAHA!!

Your CL exit was poetic justice, the most pathetic team of cheating pricks, death threats to yet another ref, oh god not again!! Drogba was priceless.
And you have a picture of an upset LFC fan for this story! How pathetic and very sad indeed. £700m is your debt, double what ours is. Love the plastic flags too, you only wave them if you’ve one and booo if you dont.
What a shower of shit Chelsea really is.
    Obscene in every way.

  29. It’s more satisfying winning European Cup’s and finishing above your lot when we don’t have the money to spend.

  30. Hahahah…WTF are u talkin about??..Debt?..Look at your cock club…What was that figure i saw 700++ million’s in debt….Your club is a disgrace and a joke…You’ve had Manager’s changed like my underwear day in day out…Even the best ( Mourinho + Scolari ) could not stand you…Even Mourinho refused to come back to your disgracefull club..We have won 18 titles and 5 Euro cups…What’s your history again???…Ancelotti is suppose to win you the Champions League…DID YOU SEE WE KICK HIS ASS IN ISTANBUL?..AND THAT WAS A HALF PAST TWO LIVERPOOL SQUAD..We have got a line string of buyers…A club is built with passion , pride and hardwork…NOT MONEY , MONEY AND MONEY…

  31. Did Liverpool really need Glen Johnson compare to Chelsea? LFC have Arbeloa while Caragher can cover while Skrtel & Agger will play in the middle of defence. Its good that Johnson go to Chelsea so he will sit on the bench seconded to Bosingwa. He will MISEED South Africa World Cup then Chelsea will sell him again for 2M pound to championship club. You’re talking of Liverpool debts while you forget Chelsea debts to your russian sugar daddy is double of LFC. Millions of pound you have spend, did you ever win European Cups. NEVER.

  32. I’m was just impressed that a Chelsea fan can almost write, using some punctuation and grammar. Judging by the village idiots I usually see in Chelsea shirts, you’re one of few. Who did you support in the ’90s?

As for Glen Johnson – he may well go to a team other than Liverpool, but he’s already slagged off Chelsea saying that his Portsmouth move re-instilled his love for the game. Hardly surprising that his spell at a soulless club such as Chelsea, that lacks any passion and is made up of a bunch of money-hungry mercenaries, turned him off the beautiful game though, is it?

  33. You two posters are idiots. Truth is Liverpool played some extremely lucky to end up where they did in the table. How many times did they score injury time goals for wins and ties? Ms. Chelsea Blog is absolutely right in thinking that next year will not be a step forward, but a step back, as the funds to bolster the squad will not be their and next season Liverpool will be exposed as the crap side that they are.

  34. Haha, Tre, we were lucky to score injury time goals? What does that make united? The luckiest ever recipients of the league title? Stop being so bloody bitter mate, we finished above you, we did the double over you. There is no luck involved in that. You dont get 86 points by riding your luck. This blog amuses me, because you write so much about Liverpool. Its almost like your running scared of us…

  35. What a laugh, you cockney muppets with your ridiculous ideas.Who wants Glen Johnson, have him he was the weak link in your side when he was there,he should never be playing for England, look at his performances there.
Our side has history,we finished above you and we will wait for you to gain the titles we have, when will that be,when they have a united cup of planets, you losers.

  36. All I can say is before you post a blog you’d better learn how to spell. Whinge is not “whine”! And why would Johnson want to return to a sorry team that gave up on him? He’ll get first-team football at Anfield and not have to fight against Bosingwa. Pompey owes the Reds for Crouch anyway so don’t presume we can’t afford him.

  37. Bitter bitter bitter ! By both plastic fans ! Hehe

  38. OK you win, we are a crap side. Yes we owe debt to a bank not a Russian billionaire, but you are so exposed by having one person controlling you club. If he pulls out it will be like pulling the plug out of the bath, keep your fingers crossed. You have no history, unless you call 5 years history and with all your wealth and power behind you have NOT performed. You created ridiculous inflated transfer fees, inflated wages for mercenaries like Drogba and Anelka and you are ahead of us finacially, while you are pulled by the puppet. Manager number 5 in 5 years, shows how you are not performing after being gifted unlimited amounts of cash (never heard of a budget). And lastly you will never have it but Liverpool play with heart and keep going to the last wistle. Call us crap, we finished above you, beat you home and away, scored more goals than you and you will always be jeolous of our success. If you do not win the CL in next two years Mupet the pupet will be emtying the bath water.

  39. Tre – So you are saying a crap side finished second in the Prem, hammered Utd at OT and ended your incredible home record all through luck and some late goals? Dream on – We were second purely because we were better over the season than Chelsea, just as Utd were better than us.How many times at the end of the season did Utd pull it out of the hat in the last few minutes of games? It is called a ‘never say die’ attitude that both LFC and Utd have instead of rolling around on the floor, berating referees and thinking the world is part of a conspiracy against you.

  40. More points, better goal difference, least defeats, best top four performances (including beating you twice), most players to score 10+ goals……and NO Russian Bank Balance.

    YNWA

  41. man chelshit..football aint bout the money. we dont want blood money running our team like urs it…we dont need slumdog players like drogba who have no manners. and terry who talks more than actually playing. we played possible the best football in the league this season. YNWA

  42. WTF …. Chelski is talking about Liverpool .
get one champions league then u can talk about us mother f***** .

  43. No tre, your the idiot. Is that not a sign of a good team? Not giving up till the end. Scoring late goals is what won the mancs the league and remind me, didn’t we score very early to beat you at your shit hole to break your unbeaten home record???

  44. their just bitter cuz we did the double on em’. not to mention the mancs as well.

  45. The point the author was making is that for 5 years now we,ve had to listen to the jibes of the histooooreeee men about Roman getting bored/dying/getting arrested by Putin’s henchmen and none of these things have happened.Chelsea did sell their soul but we got a man who loves the club, thats right LOVE.Loserbore sell their soul and they get 2 soccerball fans who saddle them with the burden of crushing debt.Funny aint it, he he, as they say

  46. So Chelsea are proud to sell a player for £4million to buy back at over 3 times the cost – must be nice to have so much blood money. Your debts over 700 and you have nothing to show for it. Uniteds is 1 billion and they have just caught us when we have a paultry £300 million. Given that Rafa made a profit on transfers last year and we still only lost out on the title by 4 points – bodes well for us. One thing for sure is Given Rafa’s net spend of £12 million per season since his arrival. LIverpool have never had much money, and we’ve always done well and we have our history to be proud of. Great manager, solid team and great backing from the fans, fans who dont need to be given flags to support their team.

So, where are your European cups ?

  47. the bath may be half full but one tug at the plug and you sink. Please tell me how succesful a club you are. How many CL have you won, how many PL have you won……..IF you still do not get it, M.O.N.E.Y.D.O.E.S.N.O.T.B.U.Y.Y.O.U.S.U.C.C.E.S.S.

  48. Chelsea D and Tre,

Lads, the table doesn’t lie! You came third, we came second. That’s all there is to it! When will you get over it?

Where finances are concerned, you owe more money than any other club in the world and you’re laughing at us? Ha! And all that you have spent still hasn’t won you ‘Big Ears.’ Even lowly Nottingham Forest still pisses all over you and the Mancs, as far as Europe is concerned!

Is that FA Cup helping to dry your tears? No? Never mind, there’s always next year! That’ll be the one… eh?

    Heh heh! ;o)

    James.
    You’ll Never Walk Alone.

  49. in terms of bolstering our squad we don’t need many players, also how can we be classed as Lucky when we held the best goal difference and if the truth be known anyone that turns down Liverpool to go to chelski is obviously a mercenary. As thierry Henry has stated and even your special one Liverpool is a unique special club. You never here any members not associated to chelski speak of chelski in that way

  50. How many coaches did Chelski go through the past 3 years??? lol Its clear to see that they got fed up of working with a bunch of idiots!

  51. you guys are morons we played a better season than united and chelsea yeah right luck! united had f***cking luck! liverpool deserve to win the premier league so shut your jeolous mouths up pissbags!

  52. nothin better to talk about than the team you envy the most?you sing that one song that was made up by some pleb who must be the local hero for actually making a song with decent words in and show your obsession just like munich and everton do. i dont know what it is about liverpool but everyone just wants to write about us or put us down clearly out of btterness and spite where were you when you were sh!t£ springs to mind they didnt have plastic flags back in them days did they?you might have won a few trophies here and there (champions league?) but i guarantee if rafa had that money to spend we would have wrapped the title up every season with games to spare (champions league?) anyway i am getting bored with posting comments about a team who claim to be ‘BIG’ when they have to actually earn that tag, i even think everton are a bigger club than chelski haha poor old stamford bridge muppets keep waving them flags and sitting in silence and you never know you might one day be classed as a big team-champions league?not in my lifetime sunshine

  53. sad really, if you look at ANY liverpool blog on the net at the moment all we are talking about is our team but is seems that the bitter blue taste is not confined to the other half of liverpool. I think you should be addressing your aging squad and looking at the behaviour of your players when they dont win, it seems to be rubbing off on the bitter supporters.

  54. Hey tre.How can Liverpool be lucky beating all the top sides by big margins and ending your home run as well as uniteds.
I would call it demolition rather than luck.
Chelsea will keep living in a dream world

  55. Sell a player for £4M, buy him back for £17M – BRILLIANT

  56. This is a rather poorly thought out blog, it lacks any real substance and written for a offset point of view.

Think of the headline “KAKA , the first of many to turn down Chelsea”,… Reads very well doesnt it, maybe I should write a blog about it ……… money doesnt buy you everything.

    As for the Table;

Points make prizes, the table doesnt lie and that simply says that with less resource in all area’s except Management Liverpool finished ahead of the Chelski Mafia but we finished 2nd behind Utd and why?…. because they had more points than us…. it’s really simple…….

  57. As usual, Chelsea fans obsessed with Liverpool. As usual, Chelsea fans talking rubbish. Your club is hundreds of millions of pounds in debt to Abramovic and you think thats a good situation to be in?! Also, has Johnson even rejected us yet?!! The problem with Chelsea fans is that you’ve only been watching football for a few years, since Abramovic came. Prior to that you could be found at polo games and Chelsea Flower Show. You are, without a doubt, the most clueless of football fans. I hate mancs but they know about football, as do brummies, geordies and scousers. Cockneys though, are clueless. I work in London and I dont think Ive had a football conversation with anyone who knows the game since I moved down here. Maybe you lot should have stuck to the Chelsea Flower Show?

  58. Ha ha, Chavski paranoia setting in again. Chelsea and their bad loser fans have got to be the most hated disliked team in the country. £700 million for a cup team is a laugh!

  59. All that money the rent boys have spunked and still no European cups and Huddersfield town have won more League titles than them, ha , ha ha,

  60. Listen mate well see next season who finishes on top even with youre sugar daddy at the helm he still cant get what he craves the mug..Hes already spent 300 million for the champions league still cant win it so what does he do spends another 100 million to win it! He couldve just bought a replica for the much!Lol.. I guess it will be the same old site next season..JT crying like a whimp when they lose in the semis again!! And oh yeah you need to spend money coz if you dont half of youre squad will be collecting pension money at the end of the season mate! And now with ancelotti in charge you should change youre name to CHELSEA VETS!

  61. Keep talking about us, we love it. Do you think we waste time talking about you mugs? No soul, no history. Yes we do have our history to fall back on, our history is solid roots in trophies and success. Where’s your home record gone? I was in the mat Harding stand for a champs league game against Olympiacos, you scum bags were throwing racist abuse at Drogba, your own player, not just one or two fans either. That’s the scum you lot are.

  62. The author of this blog might want to get there facts straight before typing them out. From what ive read Glenn Johnson would rather stay at portsmouth than go back to chelsea the club he feels was ruining his career. Also liverpool have got more than £10million. Theyve got atleast £20million plus any funds we make of selling players. So dont write about stuff you have no clue about!!! YNWA

  63. dear tre, whow are you calling a idiot! you fooking plastic flag waving chav! and as for crap side, did we not beat your shite team TWICE in the prem?, despite not (supposedly) being able to compete financially? DONT BE JEALOUS, the fact that we havent got the money that your russian sugar daddy has got makes all the more sweeter! so stop babbling envious drivel, and please stop this unhealthy obsession with liverpool, you sad,sad muppet! EUROPA LEAGUE FOR CHAVSKI NEXT YEAR! HE HE!

  64. Kaka and now Villa.

Who will be next to snub the no history West London mercenaries…

  65. Kaka, and now Villa.

Who will be next to snub the West London mercenaries…

  66. boring boring blue crap… how many times did you score late goals.. oh yeah more like conceded them to that crap bolton.. just ask your chairman who sacks there manager more times than i had hot dinners. must cost him a small fortune but that dont matter does it as he will just keep ploughing his ILLEGAL money to you just so you might win the champions league one day… what a laugh that is. your players are a disgrace, lets all go and chase the referee and nearly knock him flying to the ground and swaring on camera.. what a bunch of sour nose twats.. barcelona proved never give up not like your crap overpaid OLD team

  67. why are LFC supporters falling for all this claptrap, can,t you see, this author wants you to bite. He,s obviously confined in an old peoples home or sanitorium or such like. You shouldn,t give him the time of day. YNWA.

  68. So Kaka, and now Villa.

Who will be next to snub the West London mercenaries…

  69. Agree with the irony, but calling our season lucky and claiming Liverpool have no pulling power is just plain bias and way wide of the mark. The fact of the matter is Liverpool are still in a much more secure financial position than Chelsea, who are hemorraging money at a rate much quicker than ’1 million a month’. In fact I distinctly remember a certain Mr Kenyon announce an 80 million loss over 1 year. This article is almost as stupid as somebody thinking they’re a big club having never won a European Cup, I mean as if… Oh, hang on…

  70. All that money Chelsea have spent and they still play the worst football in the league not a ‘pool fan either but at least they entertained last year with the most goals in the league… Chelsea and now Man Citeh are teams that will never have the worldwide appeal of man u, liverpool, barca and Real… and that’s whta the Chelsea fans hate… no matter how much money they spend on 30 year olds they’ll never be considered a great footballing power!!!

  71. the first of many to turn liverpool down – really..?
how about kaka, ribery, torres, gerrard and the rest who have all turned down the team with no history…
    shame

  72. Funny that Chelsea fans are posting such idiotic drivel. Kaka, chelsea out bid real madrid, but no, he won’t sign. Ribery, nope not him either. hmm so thi sclub with all the money in the world, hasnt been able to sign the players their money merits. hmmm strange isn’t it? And another thing, didn’t johnson say something abotu chelsea ruining his love of football. hmmm. oh yeah, and didnt chelsea finish third in teh league last season behind a team that has spent a fraction of what chelsea. hmm yes, thats true, they did.

good luck for next you jokers, all your money has got you nothing bar champions league heartache after heartache. small club syndrome.

    good night

  73. I like to read the news baout team transfers and its interesting how one paper in iceland will run a story and it will be rerun a hundred times making it fact.

Rafa has what he needs to strenghen he is selling about 6 side line players who are on loan and has money from last year when we returned keane.

We only need one or two qualuty players, our side is still mid to late twenties and so two a season will add more strength

Chelski on the other hand need about five players due to age and wondering agents.

So you need more money then us, plus if u looked at your return to investment i think your find your broke, its only becuase he isnt counting his chocolate buttons :)

  74. It is a sad comment for football where fans use forums to boast about who has the richest sugar daddy. Some of us would rather debate coaching tactics or the individual strengths of Lampard vs Gerrard or Drogba vs Torres.
Its a fair Kop (pun intended) Abramovich has been a much better bet than the American debt transfer agency that is
Hicks/Gillet. No Liverpool fan voted for them and any honest team supporter would welcome Roman to their club.
History? Yes real fans care about and wear a clubs’ history with pride. Look at other sports any neutral fan without bias can imagine/understand the pride of wearing an all blacks’ jersey. A history not only attracts future coaches and players who look for and have passion but also installs something special about pulling on the jersey or taking a seat in the stand. When Chelsea finally win the Champions league you will recognize what comes with being a Liverpool and United fan. Players and prospective coaches have the right to take the money but does anyone or more importantly Gareth Barry truly believe that Man City will win anything next season?
So is football just about money, just a job or is it ‘more important than life or death’ Shankly said that of course but it couold just as easily have been Mourinho

As for the author’s so called point concerning going Rafas plans going ‘tits up’ if you seriously believe that Liverpool will not be amongst the top competing for honours regardless of ownership for years to come then you are mistaken. Football is sadly becoming more about a business than is healthy much the same as say the music industry but just as come this weekend 80,000 loyal fans will flock to a park in Derby to show their devotion to a music based on more than image and aesthetic I believe that Liverpool, Man Utd, Barcelona, Madrid, Milan will survive as the strength of the business brand is based on history of real substance and the loyalty of a tribe.

Even if Roman’s wallet secures the little genius that is David Villa (and yes I wish we had the cash) and Liverpool stay as is Liverpool will be pushing again for honours.

  75. Financially you cannot compare the teams so dont bother trying, on the pitch they are very close although they play different styles. Where the difference lies is HEART Liverpool has it running through thier veins as does John Terry and maybe a couple more but the rest of Chelsea are mecenaries.

  76. I’m a Liverpool fan, but I am also a football fan. Here’s my analysis of the season.
Liverpool – good season, lost the league by drawing too many home games against weaker opposition. Next season will be much tougher if our attacking threat is not strengthened. You cannot rely purely on Gerrard and Torres to win you the league on their own. We have other world class players in Reina, Carragher, Agger, Alonso and Mascherano, but it’s not enough and Benitez knows it.
Chelsea – season disrupted with Scolari’s inability to win over the dressing room. Injury to one player in particular curbed your season, Essien. If he was fit over the whole season, things might very well have been very different for Chelsea. Shame you couldn’t keep Hiddink because he is probably the best man manager out of all the top managers in the world at the moment.
    Overall analysis for next season.
Chelsea will challenge on all fronts very strongly if Ancelotti gets it right. They will strengthen in the summer with Roman’s backing.
Liverpool need to get rid of the Yankie muppets. If the bank calls in it’s debt then maybe one of those lovely (smile) rich Arabs can come in and give Liverpool equal financial backing as Chelsea and then we have a fantastic season to look forward to. Otherwise Benitez is going to have to make sure that he buys real quality players with the limited funds available to him for the team going forwards.
Man Utd and Arsenal will have a real struggle on their hands. If Real Madrid manage to prise Ronaldo away from Man Utd for a proposed £80M (the buyout in his contract) then who is going to make up for the shortfall in the goals that Ronaldo scores for them?

  77. ‘kind of ironic this isn’t it? Johnson was recently quoted saying he fell in love with football again after leaving Stamford Bridge — the point being that he lost his belief and passion for the game whilst at Chelsea. Even as an LFC fan, I can understand why he would turn down a move to Liverpool (because he loves playing every week), but it’s a bit rich for a Chelsea blog to take an opportunistic swipe at Liverpool when they were the first offender in this case. ChelseaBlog: Guilty of hypocrisy, as charged, M’Lud.

  78. you silly scouse mugs.what have you won in 4 years. correct you beat scolari”s chelsea twice but what about the 3 1 hiding at anfield. you had your best season in years and still won nothing. who wants glen johnson anyway. well done for buying torres, great player. but generally you sign mid range shit because no one with any brains wants to live in your shit hole of a city. bang on about your 70′s and 80′ because accepting your behind united us is hard to take

  79. is does seem a little strange that all Chelsea fans can talk about about is about how much money Liverpool have or have not got to spend.

What about your own issues??? You finished behind us last season, so its you that have squad strengthen. Concentrate on your own business of who will be manager AFTER Ancelloti gets the sack…

  80. so glen is gonna turn us down to returen to the club who shit on him in the biggest way possible all because you have a new manager plz dont make me laugh, even if he dosnt come to lfc he is gonna want guarentees of 1st team football somethin he is not gonna get at chealski…..

i just dont get how chealski works you sell a player for 4 mill who was no more than a bench warmer for you he then turns his carear around and established himself as actually a good player and the 2nd he is linked with us u want to pay 16 mil for him LMFAO dumb business……

i cant wait for when roman calls in his loans when he realises that money cant buy you anythink apart from flaggs lol

  81. Why do Chelsea sites always go on about Liverpool? This has only happened since Mourinho was your boss and complained about the ‘ghost’ goal at Anfield. You have knocked us out of the champions league the past 2 seasons so why do you take such satisfaction in any negative situations we may find ourselves in. You just do not see Liverpool websites dishing the same kind of rubbish out about other clubs. Concentrate on yourselves and enter into the real spirit of the game rather than slagging other clubs off.

  82. Awww loveable scousers

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNsl6z64fjE

  83. chelsea hardcore: you say scouse mugs!
you’re going on about a game. you deserved to win that one but your players still acted like a bunch of cunts, diving all over the place, barging into Reina then stopping him from getting the ball away, hauling down Torres and then terry high 5ing after doing so, what a bunch of wankers!
admit it, what are your fans like with those embarrassing fucking flags? its the funniest thing all season.
your owner is russian mafia, you’re even bought with dirty money!
no fucking history worth mentioning whatsoever
you’re connected with Nazis, combat 18, skinheads, steven cohen has been live on radio saying how he was singing murderers at Anfield with the rest of you saddos
can you really not see what a joke of a so called team you really are?
what kind of fans boo their team in such an important match, when they’re still in the lead? wankers all of you.
even your own chairman wanted to install electrified fences at sb to keep you animals under control
stop writing such laughable shit about such a prestigious club, the most decorated in English history, that you know nothing about.
i dont care what success you mays buy down the line with your rotten money, you’ll never understand what its like to be a part of a club as glorious as Liverpool
we’re global mate, what the fuck are you supposed to be?
try lifting your knuckles off the ground and scratch your thick head, try to understand what people are saying to you muppets.
the more you try to big yourselves up agains Liverpool the funnier it becomes, there’s absolutely fuck all you can say.
what was that you tried before, what have you won in the last 4 years? what the fuck does it matter, we’ve been rebuilding, 2decades of glory is a good run and now we’re back for more.
how long did you have to wait for abramovich to come along and buy you the title? 50 long fucking years pal HAHA
you think we’re behind United do you, that seems to make sense considering your logic you dumb cunt.
They’ve taken 45years to catch up with us, and thats only domestically, how many more years will they have to suffer before they manage our European record.
More to the point, how many more tragic years will you cunts have to suffer before you come close to winning a European cup?
    Chav fucking scum indeed.
Where’s your famous atmosphere you ask?
Where’s your European cup soon shut you up and put you in your place didnt it. No wonder you have fans like cohen and paul fucking merson, that kinda says it all doesn’t it kidda?
do me a favour lad, do a bit better if you reckon you can manage a comeback, I’ll be waiting eagerly to tear you to fucking pieces, same as we’ll do on the pitch next season, roll on.

  84. Well Well, look what we have here. A typically flawed article from an idiot linked with this flawed club.

For the record, Glen Johnson has publicly stated that he regained his love for football after moving away from stamford bridge, therefore to even suggest he would turn liverpool down in order to return to the bridge is utter rubbish.

18 League Titles, 5 European Cups (Yes you have zero) ends all arguments between Liverpool the most sucessful team in British footballing history and Chelsea, a soulless bunch of bad losers.

Uefa Hates Chelsea, FUCK OFF CHELSEA FC

  85. Fuckin hell, whats up with that cock Chav Scum, i reckon he needs a bit of a holiday, poor fella, must be awful for him, what with that loserbore shit and all

  86. as an ironic footnote, johnson is about to sign for liverpool! he he!
