Drogba Saga Again This Summer?

If there’s one thing Chelsea supporters have learnt over the past five years, it’s that Didier Drogba and speculation go hand-in-hand. Our Ivorian striker has had an apparently untreatable case of itchy feet since the moment he arrived from Marseille and you don’t have to read to much into his latest comments to see his affliction shows no signs of improvement.

I wouldn’t have thought after a season which saw him lose it with both opposing supporters and European officials without exactly redeeming himself on the pitch, Drogba would be in any position to make demands.  He obviously sees it differently though because before he even considers a new contract, he’s apparently ‘demanding’ talks with Ancelotti.

I think headlines of ‘demands’ might be over-playing it a little because what he actually says about his current position is “I have read a lot things but I prefer to know first-hand what plans he has and then decide what is best for me. I have a contract with Chelsea and nobody has told me to look for another club.  My agents have had some informal contact with the club in the last few days. I want to talk with Ancelotti to find out what he really expects from me.”

Needless to say, in the meantime, Drogba will continue to be linked to Inter Milan and almost inevitably these days, Man City…..

    Might as well keep him. Real Madrid is signing everyone’s transfer targets. Anyone that hates Chelsea for “buying trophies,” should hate Real Madrid at least twice as much.

    I think he was trying to be funny?
    But over the past few days the real super powers of football have being picking up players as they want.
    Nice to see the feeder team system working once again with another Manure player steping up to the big team.
    Then i see your comments about how Real Madrid buy cups and players and i just had to say.
    Little team and sad bitter fans you Chelsea lot!!!
    I also have to say that you write about Johnson not wanting to play for Liverpool as if he was in the top 10 players in the world. Infact he turn Liverpool down cause he wouldn’t get playing all the time so rates himself not good enought for the pool!
