Carvalho Leaving Under A Cloud?
It’ll come as no surprise to any of us that Ricardo Carvalho is looking for a move to Inter Milan. The 31-year old has previously been linked with a move to the San Siro and he seems to end up wherever Mourinho is anyway.
Personally, this isn’t a move I’m bothered about because whilst I’ve previously regarded him as our best central defender, recurrent injury problems kept him out of the side for the majority of last season and the time has probably come to replace him with a younger model anyway.
The trouble is, whilst he’s always been a much liked player at the club, the manner in which he’s choosing to leave is a bit of a disappointment. Carvalho has already given his opinion on the way things are handled inside Stamford Bridge in the past, and as he prepares reunite with his former boss, says “I’ve been at Chelsea for five years, and four of them were very good, but this last season I spent a lot of time out injured. This last year I was injured a lot. I wasn’t happy and Chelsea can’t have been happy with my contribution. Furthermore, when I was injured the club should have given me more support. They should have helped me more, especially given my past four years at Chelsea. Their attitude disappointed me a little. I believe my time at Chelsea has come to an end and I’m very happy a big club like Inter are interested in me. It’s a new challenge and I’d like to play in Italy. Mourinho’s a coach who knows me better than anybody. Together we won big trophies. He’s an ambitious coach and a perfectionist. Let’s see if the clubs can reach an agreement. I’d love to work with Jose Mourinho again.”

Chelsea News 24/7

Not only do some gullible people believe the warped, slanted quotes put out by hacks, they go and spread that tripe over the Internet.
Carvalho is one of the finest players in the club’s history, being central to the successes of recent years. He deserves better than to have supposed supporters spread the media’s bile on what is claimed to be a Chelsea site. Shame on those who contrive to use space to belittle the man rather than honour him. I have read the dire postings of ChelseaD before and he makes a habit of regurgitating negative reports from the press. Yet again, I urge him to write for an opposition team’s site, where he can publicly denigrate Chelsea staff to his heart’s content, without insulting true supporters of CFC.
Sir Cecil – get over yourself eh? These were given in the press as direct quotes from Carvalho. If he didn’t say it he’ll sue them the same as Abramovich did and you can come back and say ‘I told you so.’ Until that happens though, do me a favour and stop whingeing every time I deviate from your opinion that every thing we do is bloody perfect, it’s getting a little tedious.
Sir Cecil – Carvalho is the one denigrating Chelsea! He publicly slags the club off to the media and some fans still think he deserves to be ‘honoured’?! There’s no denying Ricky has contributed a lot in his time here but that doesn’t give him free reigns on criticising the club for not “supporting” him more. It’s so small time to accept players to badmouth the club when they are still under contract and it’s naive beyond belief to think that any negative comments reported to come out of a player’s mouth are warped.
Who made you top blue anyway? If you don’t like the blog, don’t come here. It’s not rocket science.
Carvalho was the best player you had in defence for the last few years!!!
But the muppets want people to think it was John (I love doormen) Terry that was the “man”
Terry is a good player but average and limited !
No big club wanted him and it not because he is MR Chelsea either.
Whereas Carvalho his still wanted by BIG club.
Your stock has gone down the hill as your a rest home for the over 30′s
He is good player, but he is old, so if they want to get money then they should sell him now
I don’t see the big deal here. He’s not “slagging” the club, in my opinion. He wasn’t happy last year, he says Chelsea probably weren’t happy with him last which is definitely the case. Then he says he was hoping for some more support. This means one of two things:
1 – He wanted more support from the medical staff, which has been discussed at great length that under Big Phil the medical staff was less than stellar. Hence Joe Cole re-injuring himself.
2 – He wanted to play more when he returned to health. Despite the fact that rushing him back earlier in the season re-injured himself. In which case, it’s just a case of a competitive guy wanting to play.
He then goes on to say he loves playing for Mourinho, which is something everyone not named Claude Makelele says. These quotes came out a couple of weeks ago for the first time, now it just has the thing about lack of support. Is that what everyone is up in arms about?
