It looks as if Michael Essien’s agent isn’t the only one playing games at the minute.

Maicon isn’t happy at Inter because he thinks Ibrahimovich is getting more than his fair share of attention and the 27 year old right-back has publicly let Real Madrid know he’d happily sign for them.

Now though, with Chelsea having been linked with him before and facing the prospect of Jose Bosingwa missing three or four Champions League games through suspension, Maicon’s agent is putting us forward in the category marked ‘interested’, stating “I believe Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is one of Maicon’s biggest admirers. It’s not just Real Madrid, but Chelsea who also could make a move.” 

The Brazilian, who once signed for Manchester United, is apparently impressing whilst on international duty for his country in the Confederations Cup and taking the opportunity to try and squeeze a bit more money out of his current or future club, his agent suggests “What I would like to point out is that you don’t negotiate for a champion, you go there, you buy him and that’s that. You need to make a financial effort to buy a champion.”

Worth a try I guess.
