Sturridge Signs For Chelsea?
We’ve been linked with Man City’s Daniel Sturridge since March, with some areas of the press claiming we’d actually signed him earlier this month. Apparently though, yesterday we really did sign the 19 year old on a four year deal.
The young forward’s contract at City comes to an end this month but because he’s under 24 he can’t leave on a free transfer. Not ideal then that City are looking for a compensation package in the region of £10million whilst Chelsea have a figure closer to £3million in mind. So, it looks as if the exact amount will have to be decided via a tribunal, although it’s thought it’ll be nearer the £5million mark, with a few add-ons to sweeten City’s blow.
Sturridge is certainly a decent prospect and was voted City’s Young Player of The Season for 2008/09, with four goals and three assists from his 16 appearances. As to whether or not we’ll pay him the £55,000 a week he was rumoured to demand of City, remains to be seen.

I saw this young man playing a couple of games, I believe that if given enough time and play in the best side, he will out play Anelka, even Drogba, or even Torres. Give him only seven matches and then see him from there. Welcome Daniel!!!

daniel sturridge is a great player watch him be a world class stricker by the age of about 22. and for £5m or even £10m is a bargin and will be worth about £50m in 5 years time. and sham i think mr chelsea was saying that torres is a good stricker but sturridge will be better than him if he gets the game u pleb!
