Are City Tempting John Terry?

This whole John Terry thing really isn’t showing any signs of dying down and seems all set to become Chelsea’s embarrassing pantomime of the summer.

With the question only asked on TheChelseaBlog yesterday as to why the Chelsea captain is taking so long to make some kind of statement regarding his future at the club, the answer in the press today seems to be saying it’s because he really does want to talk to Man City first.

According to certain tabloids, Terry demanded talks with Abramovich and although the talks didn’t result in an official transfer request, they left our Russian owner in no doubt of JT’s intent to talk to the Eastlands money men. Furthermore, with just 48 hours until Tevez is due to complete a move to Manchester’s smaller club, manager Mark Hughes is more than happy to fly back from Germany in an attempt to persuade Terry to join him.

We’ve already heard the rumours about Terry being disillusioned at our lack of signings so far this summer, so City’s clear intent could please him almost as much as the rumoured £280,000 a week and £5million signing-on fee. As if that wasn’t enough to make him feel welcome though, they’re even alleged to be ready to set up a John Terry Foundation in an effort to kiss his arse a little more.

I wonder if he’ll even stop long enough to close the door on his way out?

  1. Perhaps hes disillusioned with Londons smaller club

  2. ha ha

  3. Let him go, he’s already lost my respect, rather have the cash, good money for a geezer with a dodgy back.

  4. Guess, he wants to discuss he’s chances of being d captain of d side…wel, havin ivanovich in d squad n seein him lose dat penalty kick nd also nt comin out soon enuf 2 deny d claim. I think he shld b thrown out cos he’s nt a deservin captain…

  5. Tabloids love this time of year to stur up certain situations, but seriously, if Man City want to treat a person as if it was Pele or Maradona coming to their club then so be it. Its a joke, and let them have him. He’s not was he was, we aint won a lot of late, Man Utd always change when its time to re think, he has to much say, and to be honest if he wasn’t at my club, i’d think he was a piece of scum. Serious, the bloke is injured alot and we want younger hungry players, so lets get rid when we can get a load of cash for him…. But tabloids also talk a load of rubbish.

  6. i dont think he will leave for the money! he already has a plenty of cash and he’s built for chelsea! i love this player so much and i hope all of these are fake rumors!

  7. Just let Terry go. He’s not as good as he were before. I bet he will lose his England armband for playing for Champion Leagueless club and not even a top 5 club in EPL.
Not to forget, his missed a penalty in Moscow and yet, still have the face to demand an improve contract with Chelsea.
    Get lost JT!!

  8. If JT wanted so bad to go to city for the money, so let him. now we know that he is not passionate bout the club anymore. Sorry john if u go 2 city, i dont hv any respect for u anymore. Chelsea fc is committed in terry and said that terry is not for sale. What JT worry is bout his salary. what d hell is this.
JT please think bout d fan that support u and d club. Ok lets say JT went to city. Later we won the CL without him. Too bad JT its a shame. Sorry JT, by then i can call u a loser

  9. Terry is past it his last 2 years playing have been terrible and this is how he repays chelsea for missing the kick that would have won the champions league . get rid of him and get a younger player thats faster and dont have a dodgy back.

  10. john terry is beter than youll eva be so get over da fact dat he is moving cuz he is NOT :] BTW:hes da third best defenda in da world , and he wont move 2 man city cuz day SUCK .so get ova it astarguy

  11. josh – wake up mate, he’s not even the 3rd best defender in the PL anymore. To be honest the way he’s shying away from committing himself to Chelsea speaks volumes. Would he even be as welcome to stay now, because I suspect he’s blotted his copy book.

  12. If I were you boys i’d be biting the hand of Citeh for the money. Thats alot of money for a 28/9 year old centre back who is very injury prone! That kind of money will noit come round again, take it while its there and invest in youth!

  13. Money money money! Da sick bastard can never have enough…. He’s a defensive liability these days anyway, Alex is far better and as a Man Utd i cannot help but be amused that the prick who came to be known as the symbol of CFC would leave for a new ‘Project’ when the project at CFC, the Champions League win is still not achieved. Who r u kidding?

  14. he’s is the 3rd best at chelsea from what i’ve seen over the last couple of seasons

  15. Take the money and run.

  16. fickle chelsea fans bitter blue and twisted ,now the boots on the other foot ,remember gerrard o u have short memorys ,r your not the richest club any more and ur jt comin to a bigger club , get use to it , the proper mancs r comin

  17. I don’t think Terry will ever leave Chelsea…. he’ll finish his playing career at Chelsea then will take up a coaching role at the bridge followed by being an ambassador for the blues. It is frustrating that he hasn’t come out and stated ‘I’m staying at Chelsea’ but he probably is staying silent to work a better contract for himself. Who’d blame him…. think of it like this no matter how loyal you are to a company you’ve worked for all your life, some rival offers you double wages, you would hold out for your current employer to offer you something. Remember Terry is the guy that wanted to sign a 10 year contract with a clause to become manager….. is he not holding out to get offered something along these lines?! Plus how many times in the past has he publically declared his love for Chelsea and how he won’t leave. Terry is Chelsea through and through, everyone knows it and everyone really believes he won’t leave Chelsea.
