Where Is The Love JT?

It’s funny how quickly supporters can totally change their opinion of a player. One minute he’s the best captain a club could have, loyal, committed, die-for-the-cause, etc, etc. The next, he’s no more than a mercenary, in it for the money, and he’s not even that good a defender.

For me, this change in opinion of John Terry has happened over a period of time. Not for me the whirlwind romance where one minute you’re head over heels and the next, a bit of drunk flirting down the pub ends with the mother of all rows and there’s no going back. For me it’s been a long-term relationship, you know the sort right? You’ve been together years and start to question their flaws a little more, criticise them a bit more than you used to, dare to disagree with their way of seeing things and maybe start to see them in a different light.

The trouble is, just when you start to consider life apart, they start telling you how much they love you, everyone who likes them questions your sanity for even thinking about a split from such devotion, and you just sort of fall back into the habit of being together.

So how do you get to the point where you just want rid? Well, they can make it a whole lot easier for you if they start chatting up some plastic bint down the road. Ok, so this rival for their affection will never be as loyal as you, they’re not even as attractive as you (all silicone and no substance if you like), but exciting for a bit of a fling nonetheless. The flirting gets a bit more suspicious, nagging doubts turn into full blown paranoia and with them not even bothering to reassure you anymore, you finally realise everyone was right….

They could kiss your arse as much as they liked now and you still wouldn’t want them around anymore – you’re over the arsehole.

  1. your right,,terry is a traitor who stabbed us in the back..good riddance

  2. A view from Espana.

I’m tending to agree with Chelsea D - Maybe the ‘love affair IS over- if JT does want to go - let him. We have strength in depth at centre back , maybe Carlo can ‘talk’ to Riccardo to make HIM see the error of his comments of late (or is it just , as usual, papertalk). Riccardo & Alex mmmmmh!

Move over JT, thanks for the 40 mill, no one is bigger than the CFC.

BLUE FOREVER (And potless) - CAREFREE!!

  3. Must say it’s great to see Chelsea fans get a little comeuppance. Who’d have thought after the way Chelsea fans gave it large when they were the big boys in town that they’d end up sounding just as frustrated and helpless as fans of the smaller teams when Chelsea were the ones throwing the money around.
Would have a little sympathy for you lot if it hadn’t been for the crass arrogance you lot previously displayed, which makes it all the more fun for the rest of us seeing Chelsea slowly slip away, just as forecasted.
You’ve had your 15minutes now please quietly go away

  4. All i know is that JT must not leave chelsea, because age is no longer on his side. so the only team that can favour him and his career is chelsea. chelsea is the only JT can win any trophy for now, going to MC is a waste of time and career, cos for now man city can’t win anything. bt chelsea stil need him so he can’t leave us now at this stage.

  5. I have nothing against Manchester city fans, I hope they enjoy their rise to the top of the game, the same as I did when Chelsea were bought out (inevitable of course with the money being banded about).

Although suggesting day to day fans deserve to see their Captain potentially taken from them (and to take it quietly) because of events, such as a takeover form Abramovich and ‘throwing money around’ - which they have no control over - is pathetic.

Unfortunately large amounts of money is what modern football is about, and now Manchester city are reaping the benefits as Chelsea did after the takeover.

So my suggestion is - enjoy it… but have a little dignity and show a bit of respect to other teams when you do get the best players in the game coming to Eastlands.

Personally I don’t think John will go - I would hope he isn’t driven by money which is unfortunately all City can offer at the moment.

So good luck with fitting 9 strikers on the pitch and no quality defenders!

  6. Very interesting and well-written commentary on the JT saga. I feel Chelsea should cash in on him, as he is overpriced right now, and spend the money on either an excellent foreign CB, or a good English one. I’ve always seen Shawcross as the same type of player who selflessly throws himself in front of balls similar to JT.

  7. Ged - In what way are we slipping away? Unfortunately for you, we aren’t going anywhere. Take your own advice and quietly go away. Thanks.

  8. Spektral - I suppose because theyre the ones signing all the players, theyre assuming it’ll equal success. Obviously they have a lot more financial clout than the rest of us now but the downside of that is that players arent always at the club for the right reasons.
I mean let’s face it, if JT does sign for them, is he doing so for anything other than money? I hardly think so.

  9. If he goes I believe he will be the most hated person in England. For us Chelsea fans is like he would slugged the knife in our back.

  10. JT cost us the champions league with that penalty miss,,and we forgave him. he talks about loyalty? what a joke, let the greedy money grabber go and he might realise money dont buy respest talking of which i have no respect for him at all now

  11. Should he stay or should he go
If he stays there will be trouble and if he goes it will be double !!!!
Just love the old classics !!!
Love the fact that you now see PLAYERS as guys that just want to make money.
Also show what you club has got pushed back from the top of the money pile and are slipping away!!
