Chelsea Issue Cole Statement

Reports earlier today again suggested Harry Redknapp was about to put in a £10million bid for Joe Cole.

It’s never been a secret that Redknapp would love to take the midfielder he gave his debut to White Hart Lane, and we’ve heard all these rumours before.

Fortunately, Chelsea have moved quickly to stop this particular rumour in its tracks by issuing a statement on SkySports just minutes ago, making it clear Joe Cole is going nowhere.

The statement reads “Contrary to media reports Chelsea is not, and will not be, considering any offers for Joe Cole.  Our sole focus, as is Joe’s, is to complete his rehab and get him fit as soon as possible so that he can play a major part in the new season.”

Great news.

  1. What another player being taken to a bigger club!!

Maybe Chelsea should try to get Harry as the next manager as he has a good eye for the older player and the cheaper foreigner! As your summer buying has being less than the tourist in Harrods!!
Maybe you could get Gary Neville as he a pin up of your’s Chelsea D!!!
This might break Scott the Red heart!! If his bum chum Gary when South.

  2. Sham, if you actually read the club’s statement it makes it clear Cole isnt going anywhere no?

  3. harry shuld back off………..until chelsea says otherwise.on the other hand chelsea might sell him and buy ashley young from villa as he is the ideal replacement for him if he should go

  4. desmondadonis – I think Chelsea have done the right thing by Joe Cole. It’s good to see the club coming out so quickly with a statement to nip this one in the bud.

  5. Sham – You talk more about Gary Neville than the average red. He the man of your (wet) dreams or what?

  6. Sorry Scott the Red I only fancy the WAG not the players i will leave that to You.

Chelsea D can you not see that Chelsea want a few more pound from Spurs for the lad and hope that when he fit again that the price will go up!!

  7. No Sham, what I can see is Chelsea telling Spurs they won’t be considering any offers for Cole. Or did I miss the subliminal message in there?
