Serbian To Choose Chelsea Over Manchester United?

Back at the start of the summer, TheChelseaBlog carried a story about Nemanja Matic and how we were one of about eight clubs linked with him. Now though, with just Chelsea and Manchester United seemingly left in the runner, the player himself has hinted us he’s heading to.

The 21 year old Serbian says “The London club are very interested about seeing me in their ranks this summer.  I’ve left the whole matter up to my agents. The talks are being conducted on a daily basis and I think that everything will soon be finished.  All in all, there’s a big possibility that I’ll become a Chelsea player in the next few days.  It’s important that my club Kosice, where I won recognition as a player, is satisfied. I have a contract with them for another one-and-a-half years and I hope that it will end in the best possible way.”

Didn’t Ancelotti just say there wouldn’t be anymore signings though?

    bollocks utd were never interested, we have already signed the two best young players in serbia. Besides chelsea track record is very very poor in terms of signing young players

    Manchester United were never interested in bidding for Matic. The link with United comes because Vidic suggested that Matic move to England on Serbian TV. Some people thought he meant to Man Utd but he meant England in general.
