You have got to be shitting me? Liverpool are paying Glen Johnson how much a week?????
You’ll have to excuse me, I thought for a minute I’d read they were paying him something like £139,000 a week. Stupid of me I know, particularly with TheChelseaBlog always being reminded by the visiting Liverpool lot how wrong it is to spend excessive amounts – and let’s face it, £139,000 a week would be excessive for Johnson (mind you, when he played for us, a tenner a week seemed excessive sometimes). If we’d have paid £17million to get him back again, particularly when we’d let him go because he just wasn’t good enough, I’d have been pretty embarrassed for the club.
I mean, to be honest, I had issues with Frank Lampard’s contract and whilst I still think it’s an obscene amount of money to pay any player, at least we know we’d be a lot worse off if we hadn’t given him the contract and he was playing somewhere else other than our midfield now. But would Liverpool hold Johnson in the same sort of regard as we do Frank? Answers on the back of a stamp for that one.
Obviously, there’ll be plenty who’ll be thinking about glass houses and stones right about now, particularly with events at Chelsea over the summer pointing to a certain captain waiting to negotiate his very own daylight robbery payrise but then, TheChelseaBlog hasn’t exactly held back when it comes to an opinion on that subject anyway.
On the subject of captains though, as far as I’m aware, Stevie Me doesn’t even earn £139,000 a week and we all know what happens when his importance isn’t recognised.

I dont think Liverpool have got the cash to do that and I couldnt see the club paying him that amount as Gerrard and Torres would have to be put on the same level. One thing Liverpool cant be called recently is big spenders, theyve spent a net of zero in the past 2 seasons, which is why they wont challenge for the title this season.

Gerrard is Liverpool’s top earner and he’s on £120,000 p/w, Torres is next on £110,000 p/w. There is absolutely no truth in the story.

2) About the wages of ‘Fat Lampard’: He is in his 6th season for us now. He is vice-captain behind Terry. Hasn’t missed a penalty for the last three years. In the last four seasons he scored 20+ goals. In the last three seasons he had almost no injuries and played 90%+ of ALL games (PL, CL, FA, CC), wich is about 65 games a season. All this makes him a very respected and very popular player. He lives for the club. Now find me a PL-midfielder, who has the same qualities? In brief: He deserves to earn this amount of money.
3) Shevchenko. Before Chelsea signed him, everybody knew what is quality was; one of the european all-time topscorers, very, very good striker. Top of the bill. Now, please don’t act if you knew that it would all go wrong, because nobody knew. We only found out in the season after. And i agree, that’s a huge amount of spilled money, but let’s be honest; i don’t think that the same amount of money (….million) for, light-weight/unproven, and in the mean time failed players such as Babel (£15 million), Lucas ( near £7 million), Pennant (also around £7 million), Crouch (and again £7 million) was better spent(we’re talking about £36 million pounds)!!!!
4) And still Cole is one of the best LB’s/the best LB in the world. And don’t tell me you’re going to promote Aurelio xD!

You have tried now though or did I miss these players in your youth academy Agger,Babel, Torres, Kuyt, Mascherano, Lucas, Insua, N’gog, Reina, Skertl and so forth.
You do not hate Chelsea because we “bought” our team…all the winning teams have to buy their team in any sport now.It started in Italy went to Spain and is now in England.
Liverpool fans are not mad they are jealous as compared to Man U, Chelsea and now Man city and even Tottenham they have the owners with the least backing.
