Chelsea International Injuries Update: Ballack

Michael Ballack apparently took a bit of a bang on the ankle against Russia at the weekend – by none other than Chelsea new-boy Yuri Zhirkov.

The Chelsea midfielder looked to be suffering but as seems to be the custom for our international players, stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes anyway – not like he’s got Premier League games to worry about is it?

And as if that isn’t annoying enough, despite admitting his ankle didn’t feel good during Saturday’s game, Ballack suggests it’s all ok again now, so there’ll be no need for him to rest up.  Our 33 year old midfielder says “It is not that serious as we had thought.  During the match it was pretty much aching, but afterwards it was not. It is pretty fine now, though.  I believe I could be ready for the match on Wednesday, thankfully it was not a big thing.”

Whether he’ll be fit to face Villa afterwards is anyone’s guess!

  1. I’m guessing you don’t like michael ballack much..you needn”t read much into him playing on with an ache, remember that cut he got on his head and he played on with it bandaged…didnt even pull out of the high headers, and surprise,in a chelsea shirt too…its not about him not having premier league games to bother about, its just the kind of player he is.
