You can’t help but laugh at Rafa Benitez can you? I mean, every time the man opens his mouth he manages to get both feet in.
This time, we’re hearing some unfortunate comments he made – a little prematurely it turns out – ahead of Liverpool’s trip to the seaside Sunderland at the weekend. So confident was he that defeats to Chelsea, Spurs and Villa wouldn’t stop it from being ‘their year’, Benitez claimed “We have a lot of worries at the start of this season, but we are improving and my team will soon find again its best level. I am convinced of that.”
Mind you, with the usual anticipatory excuse up his sleeve, Liverpool’s embarrassment of a boss threw in “We were very close last season. Don’t forget Liverpool has less money than Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and now Manchester City. “
Is he forgetting we’re not actually allowed to spend any of ours? Not to worry, he can always blame the opposition supporters for throwing their beach balls around. Oh no, wait……

Chelsea and Manchester City are the biggest spenders (gross and net). Even if Chelsea don’t spend a pound over the next two years they still will have spent more than any other team in the big 4.
The ONLY team that can claim having to deal with limited funds and a shoe-string budget is Arsenal. Benitez is such a twat…always with the made up statistics and the constant excuses..
