I’m not sure what the press boys were on this weekend but whatever it was, it was strong enough to see one of them throw together some ridiculous ‘story’ about Chelsea signing Stevie Me.

Whilst we all thought this story had been done to death over the years, The Mirror obviously isn’t of the same opinion and alleges Carlo Ancelotti has told his mates he’s ready to offer £30million for Garrard at the end of the season. Because realistically, with an abundance of midfielders we can’t even accommodate now, it goes without saying we’d need to add another player who’d be 30 by then – and then there’s the little matter of us probably being banned from signing anyone in the summer anyway!

You can only assume from this particular headline that The Mirror’s Christmas knees-up went well.
