John Terry Up For Sale?

Remember sitting out last summer waiting for John Terry to tell us and the club whether he planned to stay at Chelsea or become another one of Citeh’s mercenaries? Well, after sorting out exactly the right contract needed to keep him, we’re now hearing the club itself is ready to let the skipper go.

A bit hard to believe maybe, considering he is ‘Mr Chelsea’ after all, but what we’re hearing in a roundabout sort of way is that after he’d spent more of last season on the front pages than back, Chelsea were hoping Terry would justify their stance by coming out of the World Cup with enough credibility to give the press amnesia.

As we know though, JT didn’t manage to keep himself out of the headlines while he was away and despite an outstanding performance against Slovenia, capped off the controversy over his press conference with an unbelievably poor defensive display against Germany. So, according to the latest rumours, despite previously regarding the skipper as priceless, Chelsea are now ready to let him go to the highest bidder.

Are we buying this one though?

  1. I think the club is deeply regretting not taking £30 million last summer. He’s never been the best defender at the club, always cleverly combining with a more talented partner to look good. His overall defensive performances last season were not as good as before. The worst, however, is the extent of JT being a liability: the scandals, the sense that he is bigger than the club and can get away with everything, his disruptive influence in the dressing room. On all these counts, JT should go. He’s not Mr Chelsea (although he certainly thinks so). Good luck to the club finding a buyer, though.

  2. Would be a good idea to get top money now as he is in decline.,

  3. We have Alex, Ivanovic, Carvalho and, I think, one of the youth team players as alternatives. If Arrogantio comes up with £20-30m i would let him go, he seems to have become too big for his boots really. The one we really don’t want to lose is Cole, that would be leave big hole but I don’t blame him for thinkling of going, who would want all that press harassment (and why is his ex wife seen as a national treasure, din’t she have an unpleasant altercation with a cloakroom attendant a few years ago?)

  4. No this aint ryt…..he & lampard are the heart n soul of chelsea if either 1 leave its gona break alot of hearts n JT has always been a gr8 captain for chelsea…..

  5. I would of sold him to City last year for £40m…

  6. I love JT but if a big enough offer comes in then at 29, we’d be foolish not to accept it. I can’t see him going though. In regards to Ranners, Am I the only one that doesn’t rate Joe Cole. He’s inconsistent, light weight and pretty injury prone. He was who everyone was shouting for at the world cup but when he came on, did absolutely bugger all. Let him go and get Kakuta playing.

  7. He cn go we have.but don’t cole go knw one lyk him in d left back

  8. The money would be great and we have a good future replecement in Hutch, they’re the positives but after the servive he has given to our club, on the field and off, i’m hoping he sees out his career at Chelsea.

  9. Terry is the reason why England got mulled by Germany and as usual Ashley Cole is the black sheep to suck up the nation’s frustrations. Please can the English media stop its blatant racism- Cole is not the first black guy to date a white girl -and its over anyway-shut it and let the guy play good football for Chelsea

  10. He didn’t behave very well around money last year. Ivanovic and Alex? Maybe even Bruma, who will be a big star soon enough. Honestly, 15M and I would sell. I like John Terry, I think the media has it out for him, but I also think Lampard would make a great Captain and a well deserving one.

  11. ARE U LOT REALLY ON CRACK OR SOMETHIN EVEN TO CONSIDER LETTING TERRY GO SHOWS HOW MUCH U LOVE CHELSEA YOUR ALL OBVIOUSLY TRUE FANS (NOT) THE GUY WAS PLAYIN WITH INJURIES FOR CHELSEA NOW THATS COMMITMENT U ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED CHELSEA DONT NEED PPL LIKE U SO GO SUPPORT MAN UTD THERE FULL OF IDOITIC NUGGETS TOO

  12. @Sparky, how come that when someone (correction:more and more people) questions JT’s value for Chelsea, it’s always met with disbelief and ones love for the Blues are challenged. To be honest JT has had so many off the field PR disasters the last 18 month or so that it is starting to hurt the club and JT’s own game has not exactly been of the usual quality. JT needs new pastures and he needs to get a reality check and get so´me treatment for his megalomania. Most real True Blues does not regard any single player bigger or more important than the club, no matter how valuable and legendary a player is or has been.
Letting JT go would release enough money to go for solid replacements, I’m thinking of Mertesacker from Germany in defence Ozil and/or Sweinsteiger in midfield and personally I would very much encourage Chelsea to make a serious offer for Brazilian Neymar, he is just unbelievable.

  13. First of all I´ve been a true blue since 1977, and no player is bigger than CFC !!! But to the point, we should never considder selling John Terry!!!!!!!!! Yes he has had bad games in the last 18 mounths but who hasn`t?? We need our captain!! He will be a great player for us for atleast 5 more years. Go JT & Forza Chelsea

  14. let him be sold and look for another replacement. meawhile we have some upcoming youth player.just like him in his days of youth coming up. go terry go terry

  15. Sell him I say, I,m utterly sick of him, he thinks he’s the big man, Mr Chelsea, well Mr Chelsea nearly cost the real Chelsea the title last year and probably cost them the CL. No one is bigger than CFC, he,s become a liability, sell him.

  16. Don’t sell JT he did his best regardless of all the scandals, i still think he can come back to his best, he is still the best stopper in PL.
Yes last yr wasn’t good for him, but who could manage after all the scandals, i think this coming PL we would see another best JT.

  17. You all must be rili on crack or somefin. Jt is d worlds best center back. JT retires with chelsea

  18. i agree with chelsea4life. it is a complete joke that any of the fellow blues fans are wanting the club to seel JT. It makes me sick to see it. He’s the only player on the entire squad (that actually gets a run) that has been there since youth grade and he is Mr Chelsea. He’s done some silly things off the field and maybe had about 3 performances for the blues which were not at his best. He had 1 performance for england which was bad and people are abusing him only because it was the most important game. besides that game he was best defender by far. he was inspirational against slovenia. He is our captain leader and legend and he deserves better from the so called fans who are calling for his head. JT deserves to and will retire with Chelsea!

  19. HERE WE GO AGAIN IS HE OR IS HE NOT TO BE HONEST I THINK ITS JUST ANOTHER STORY I HEARD ONE THE OTHER DAY THERE GOING CLONE WAYNE ROONEY SO EVER TEAM CAN HAVE ONE LOL LOL LOL (AS IF WE NEED HIM) PLEASE LEAVE YOUR STORYS WERE THEY BELONG IN STORY BOOKS JOHN TERRY IS WAT HE HE IS CHELSEA ALL THE WAY JUST LEAVE HIM TO DO WAT HE DOES BEST LEAD US TO VICTORY THANK YOU AND GOODBYE CHELSEA ALL THE WAY

  20. sell terry get £30-40m for him the get a couple of youngsters like jack rodwell, david luiz and mesut uzil

  21. Why would anybody seriously want to sell JT? I’m actually schocked that, this many of you want to see him go. His commitment to the club, his heart, are the best in the world.

I understand why the media hazzles him, it’s all about selling papers, but why on earth will any Chelsea fan turn on him? We need him at his best, we need his commitment, and by publishing such bullshit, as some of you are, you are clearly not supporting the club, you are sabotaging maybe our most dangerous weapon. So I think Sparky is right questioning the loyalty of some of you.
