We heard some nonsense stories on Monday about Didier Drogba going to Citeh – or at least I hoped at the time it was nonsense. We’d just found out Joe Cole had signed for the dippers and I really couldn’t handle reading the dross about that, so the Drogba story was the icing on the cake in terms of round a bad day off.

Fortunately though, Chelsea have decided to nip this one firmly in the bud by ruling out any possibility of a move for the Ivorian with a statement. Nipping in ahead of any potential bids for our frontman, a Chelsea spokesman, in response to recent reports, has insisted “It is all irrelevant, Didier Drogba is not for sale.”

So that’ll be the last we’ll hear of that then, right?
