The Money’s There But Will Ancelotti Spend It?
Hot on the heels of one of our rivals going on about us buying our success, it looks as if we just might be giving them something else to write about. Or will we?
I suppose the answer to that depends on Carlo Ancelotti because whilst Chelsea have confirmed he can have more money if he wants it, so far this summer, despite increasing injuries and a decreasing squad, he’s only spent £5m on Yossi Benayoun.
Following our recent spate of injuries, Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has said “If Carlo wants to bring a player or two into the squad then we will look at that. It has to be the right player to fit into the squad and obviously at the right price. If these things all come together then fine, we’ll strengthen the squad. But only if Carlo feels it’s necessary.”
However, whilst I could happily spend a few million or sixty on the club’s behalf, Ancelotti so far seems to be a bit more prudent. He’s already made a few vague comments about our double-winning squad still being good enough but with that squad a little more depleted and the nod to shore it up a bit, will the Chelsea boss have anyone in mind to spend the money on?

I really hope so cause we need at least 2 more established players to fill the emty spaces that joe cole, ballack, belletti, obviously deco, and possibly r.carvahlo left by their departure.
we have a few really good youngsters that I’m willing to see next season like van aanholt, bruma, kakuta, di santo and mancienne. it’s pitty that stoch left because I think that he could play better role than benayoun.
I think that signing of ozil could be crucial for us, with city already signing 5 players they will be out of battle, his price is relatively low, tottenham offered 16 mil for him, I think that we could have him in a region of 20-25 mil which is nothing in comparison to his prospect and our need for another playmaker
Where did you get 60 million? I read those comments and thought shit were not getting anyone big. First was one or two players so limited people. This seems a lot less needs then what everyone has posted here. Second is fits the club meaning Roman has to ok the player and finally not to expensive which means another 5 million player. Not really amazing stuff. I was on a high last year and called you pesemistic and said wait and see we will win the league. I say now be prepared as we will be third.
no need for new signings even if riccy leaves.we’ve still got rajkovic who’s a giant of a defender,technically good & can play Lb.kakuta is the answer instead of ozil so we’re sorted. I think yury is gonna be very vital this year & can make an able deputy for anyone who’s left.
Look. For whoever who says the squad is strong enough, stop it. It is not. Don’t turn around and say something else at the end of the season.

If we finish third then tottenham are going to win the champions league. I must admit the squad on paper looks weak with all the outgoings but we do have the special one as our manager so anything is possible. I reckon a couple will be in before the transfer window closes and it will be good for Ancellotti to have some of his own signings in the squad. sergio aguero will not be coming to Chelsea Ancellotti has already said that. Why do people still constantly link him with us???

Ancelloti should strengthen his squad.The signing of muller will add great strength to our great club.
I am not linking sergio aguero to Chelsea .. i am a voice saying that we shud sign him!!
My bet is he wud flourish at chelsea!
Ancellotti has said he is not signing Aguero. Maybe he would flourish but he wont be coming to Chelsea. Ancellotti must have other plans.
