Chelsea ‘Cheats’ Caught Out

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Frank Lampard has recovered from his hernia surgery in time for the game against West Ham – but according to Caught Offside, none of us should be surprised about that seeing as Chelsea engineered it that way.
Here, according to Caught Offside are the facts:
“Frank Lampard was in a lot of pain after the Stoke City game, not in enough pain to prevent him from playing the lions share of the game. It was decided that it was however the ‘right time’ to have a ‘much needed’ operation at the exact same time as the international break. Now fully recovered the Stamford Bridge man will be fit to play for his club against West Ham on the weekend. Lampard, after conversations with the club doctor, decided that now was the time to resolve the problem immediately. Is this a coincidence? A sequence of events that is just a case of bad timing? Remember we are not talking about a pointless friendly, we are talking about two crucial Euro 2012 qualifiers.”
And obviously you can see their point because firstly, as we know, Frank’s never been all that keen on playing for his country so if surgery is what’s required to get out of a qualifier then obviously that’s the lengths he’d go to. He’s cleverer than just doing that though, is Frank, because he also managed to convincingly put in one of his poorest performances against Stoke – missing a penalty into the bargain – just so we were all fooled into thinking there might be a problem. And as for the bit where he actually looked to be in pain when he went off early, well he could give Didier Drogba a run for his money in the thespian stakes – sheer genius Frank!
So, what about John Terry – a player who’d do absolutely anything to get out of an international obviously – what do Caught Offside charge him with? Well, they say “OK, so the Chelsea captain has been playing in pain throughout the season and has managed to play every minute of the season thus far but for some reason the pain became too great exactly when his country needed him. He will more than likely also be fit and raring to go for the trip to Upton Park. Is this also a massive coincidence?”
Again, of course it’s not a coincidence. John Terry, who historically hasn’t pushed himself even when injured for either club or country and who would never suggest England was bigger than Chelsea for him, wanted to get out of an England game so much, he too put in a below par performance for his club – limping about for part of it – just for show. Clever lad.
Makes complete sense when you think about it and you can see exactly why those smart people over at Caught Offside would question whether the pair of them should be kicked out of the international set-up, right? ![]()

Chelsea News 24/7

Don’t you think that the pain caused by hernia had become severe enough to have an impact on Lampard’s performance in the Stoke game, and it was about time for him to have that much needed surgery?
Also, am I wrong to guess that if Lampard wasn’t so keen on international football he could have rejected the invite to become a part of Capello’s line-up? From what I’ve seen in the World Cups or European Championships, Lampard has been quite avid on the pitch, playing his heart out, and looking excited.
I think it’s just very lucky it has taken so little time for Lampard to recover from his surgery to be fit for the West Ham game.
What REALLY happened is that both JT and Lamps were dropped from the squad, but to reduce the pressure on Capello and the players, it was decided that it would be in everyones best interest to claim injury – JT and Lamps save face and the manager doesn’t have to explain why he’s dropped them. As a Chelsea supporter that’s fine by me – internationals only hinder us.
EVen of they weren’t really injured I won’t blame them for not appearing in a thankless England uniform
S Gerrard did the same thing a few years back, no one said anthing then so why not because the two players will be back for w ham game
I don’t know why they bother. They should just retire. I think every veteren Chelsea player, barring Joe Cole has been singled out and booed at one point or another for more than one game. Even Lampard. Let the paying fans have what they want, a Gerrard, Rooney love-in and we can all ooh and ah every time they do anything above average. Or blame the youth setup when they don’t do anything even though we just won the U17 European championships.
Honestly though, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that most of our players aren’t playing in the qualifying. I think they are really going to push for the CL this year and while I don’t doubt that Lampard was injured, I would not be suprised if he held off for this op.
why whould lampard wish to play fo england when hes been the best english player for the last 6 years and isnt loved. they should be building the team around him. and not just a team of the best players, but a team that can play. we could all see that 4-4-2 was not working and that england dont have the players for that system. so why not set up in a way which has won 3 of the last 6 for chelsea. 4-3-3 or even the man u 4-5-1.
I’m amazed that they have decided to go on this angle, especially seeing as many of Man United players have mysteriously had injuries in the past (not just for England, but all national sides). Also, people like Paul Scholes and Jamie Carragher actually let their country down and didn’t recieve much and didn’t Sol Campbell miss most England friendlies during his England hey-day through ‘injury’?
Also, we’re continuously told Lampard does nothing for England and John Terry is overrated and useless, so what are they complaining about?
Lampard had surgery… can they not understand that?
They are not smart people over at Caughtoffside – it’s a 15 year old boy in his bedroom trying to think of content for a poor fan’s website. Just ignore them.
I think Lamps and Terry should just retire from international football anyway. Seems like a pointless activity to me. They go there and get abused, they stay home and get abused. Why bother??
I was listening to the radio yesterday and the were saying the media should leave Rooney alone and forget his misdemeanours. Yet a few months earlier the same journos forced Capello to sack Terry as captain because he was a “disgrace”. And it now looks like he didn’t even actually have an affair at all!!
The pros and the amateur journos are all numpties. Not worth bothering reading them I would suggest.
Caught offside is just another average England fan contributing to the problem. They wonder why their players can’t handle the pressure, and then they proceed to slander the players with no actual evidence. Keep it up, moron.
Well well we at Chelsea thats what we’d like to hear that JT Lamps and even A.Cole are kicked out of the national useless team
Where on earth are you getting your anger from get over it mate. Chelsea are now a global football force its too late .
As for frank never wanting to play for England ? Has he turned his back on England like everybody’s cheeky chappy defender Carrager ? or ” I know he nearly ended that players career but every one loves ole Scolesy andknows he can’t tackle ” paul scoles ? .
Terry you all love to pick on JT , why was Crouch not publicly reprimanded ? and why wont Rooney be ? well they Don’t play for Chelsea.
yes you should all boo the Chelsea players . How British of you pip pip tally ho and all that . Angry looser’s who hate progress and success oops I already said how British of you didn’t I ?
All I have to say is who pays their real wages . . . is it England or Roman??
If I was them I would tell Fabio to stick it anyway.
The way England are going he will have nobody to pick as Captain apart from squeaky clean ‘non football brain’ Walcott anyway.
JT punished for off field activities. Ash cant be now for obvious reasons, prozzie boy Wayne, the scouse thug stripped when his injunction gets overturned, the freak, the druggie and now even the future of English football Jack Wilshire!
Dumb, stupid, idiotic. Do you think you will sound more like a ‘real’ journalist if you just jump on the anti-Chelsea or anti-Terry bandwagon? If you do…next time a Man U player misses an International due to injury, make sure you ignore it. Cos then you will be just like them.
that author doesnt even know that terry was examined by f.a. doctors too…… just anti chelsea writers what wlse…….
.
as pat nevin said on his blog, people will realise the value of these two when they retire
Defoe, nursing an ankle injury, just got carted off the pitch in Switzerland, with what appears to be re-injury to that ankle.
Is there any doubt that playing in a qualifier with an injury is just a bad idea? Defoe will likely miss both League and Champions League action now.
