Newcastle 1-1 CHELSEA: What’s Being Said?

Don’t really know what to say about yet another game where we didn’t get what we deserved but there’s been plenty said anyway, so here’s a selection:

EPLtalk think our title challenge has cooled

Whilst The Guardian see it as a slip-up just about avoided

And The Independent agree our blushes were spared

The Daily Mail reckon Ancelotti’’s feeling the heat

Although The Telegraph reckon he’s just desperate to get his key players back

And finally, Goal.com bring us the Chelsea manager’s thoughts

As for TheChelseaBlog view, how Newcastle got a point out of that is beyond me but Chris Hughton must’ve squeaked from his rear end for most of it whilst his side worked theirs off defensively. Alex’s lack of fitness was the key to Newcastle’s opener and he never looked himself at all. Collectively, we looked frustrated and whilst it’s fair to say we battered the Geordies, desperation probably got in the way – as Kalou’s horrible miss demonstrated.

For all the Geordie’s embarrassing defending off the pitch – with ‘their Cheryl’ obviously vital to the proceedings – it certainly didn’t do our Cole any harm and served only to see him have a bit of a blinder. Sadly he was the only player to really stand out for us on the day, shame the rest of our lads haven’t got on the wrong side of an X Factor judge really.

A point was better than nothing I suppose but with both United and Arsenal winning and our goal difference gone, it’s another game that’s done us no favours and with one win in five and Everton, Spurs, United and Arsenal all coming in the weeks ahead, it has to be said we’re more desperate than ever to see the return of Lampard, Essien and John Terry.

  1. You werent any better than the result suggested and you certainly didnt deserve more out of the game… But at least you aint bitter?

  2. Spoilt Chelsea fan writing dribble. You got A point, get over it. What a bloody shame you ain’t won in three games ooohhh the world is going to end. All the excuses from the Cockney media about big players being missing. NUFC had Williamson,Coloccini,Barton,H.B.A, Gosling, Harper,Nolan all out but very little said about that….strange that. Anyway good luck im sure you lot will be there or there about’s by the end of the season something NUFC would love top have. Be grateful for the quality you have, we would love a Drogba or a Cole playing for us.

  3. What a sad buch bastards you’s are a draw is more than you lot deserved

  4. dina how u dare say u deserved to win , uz were luky at best for a point after cole cleared of tha line and the amount of times u dived u shouda ad 9 men,

  5. A little bit biased aren’t you for the 1st 30 minutes the Toon were by far the better tyeam and could have been 2-0 up. After the Chelsea goal (which wouldn’t have beaten Krul if it hadn’t taken 2 deflections) then it’s fair to say that Chelsea were the better team though a great goal line clearance from Cole avoided a 2nd Toon goal. Kalou missed an absolute sitter but I think that a draw was a fair result. You could give credit were credit is due. As far as Chelsea having important players missing Terry, Lampard, Essien, we had Barton, Nolan, Collocinin & Williamson missing.

  6. The scoreline was fair. There were no controversial decisions and you didn’t score more/ess than the other team. Simple as that.

Moreover, if it wasn’t for a ashley cole clearance from routledge, it would have been a 3 points lost.

  7. What a complete biased post, you were lucky to not be 2-0 with-in the first 6 minutes & then Drogba should have been sent off for diving & trying to get Campbell sent off for being the last defender, plus we had as many shots on your goal as you had on our, as for Ashley frakin Cole, he was fraking useless against one of our weaker right wing players in Routledge, so to say he was your best player is a joke!!
I watched the game with some Chelski fans & they all said we should have won, so this post of yours is your opinion only, not that of the rest of your fans who watched it & not through blue tinted specs like you seemed to have done!!!

  8. a draw was a fair result, we weren’t good enough to take all 3 points.

  9. Stats for the Newcastle-Chelsea Game:-

    Shots(On Goal): 6(3) vs. 20(7)
    Fouls: 10 vs. 12
    Corners: 6 vs. 7
    Offsides: 2 vs. 1
    Possession: 43% vs. 57%
    Yellows: 2 vs. 1
    Saves: 6 vs. 2

Not saying that Newcastle didn’t deserve the point – saw the game, and your lads played hard. Chelsea, though, did test the Newcastle goal a lot more than Newcastle did.
