AVB on McEachran: “His Brain Is Five Yards Ahead”

It’s no secret to anyone who reads TheChelseaBlog that I genuienly believe the sun shines out of Josh McEachran’s rear end – I know a lot of our opposition suggest he’s overrated but they just wish he was. God knows why they’d begrudge us a bit of success from our academy though considering the last player we actually brought through was John Terry – or maybe that’s their point.

Anyway, thankfully it seems our new manager is as big a fan of McEachran as I am because he says “This is a youngster with so much talent.  Physique-wise, there is nothing to him at the moment.  In the changing room you see him getting ready to go and train and he looks nothing like a footballer. His power and pace is in his head.  But you could say the same about Luka Modric, Jack Wilshere or Samir Nasri. All are built with slight physiques but they are all among the finest midfield players in the world.  Josh is going that way. His brain is always five yards ahead of the rest.  I see in him very much as part of the future of this club.”

And in spite of rumours we still might try another bid for Modric before the transfer window closes, AVB insists “I need a midfield player as a priority, also a winger.  These are important to this club and I see business being done but it will not be at the expense of players like Josh.”

Quite right too.

  1. Josh is indeed a revelation from the chelsea acadamy with a beautiful and a bright future and every analytical lines about him is perfect.

  2. I think AVB is right with the idear of a creative midfielder.chelski is really in need of that .

  3. Today‘s game against stoke betrays anyone who thought that we have a complete team. Malouda and kalou are off pace and lampard could not open the defence for strikers. Two wingers and a creative midfielder, and we are good to go. God bless Chelsea.

  4. And it came to pass that chelsea began her 2011/2012 season with a draw after a wonderful preseason. Oh what a poor genesis! Pls AVB as soon as possible get us Luka or Sneijder a powerful winger. Talking about playing an attacking and attractive football without a playmaker/creative midfielder, it’s perfectly impossible.

  5. Yeah! AVB is right. Chelsea needs a playmaker and a winger. But i wil luv dem 2 go 4 nasri, modric and neymar. Blues 4 lyf

  6. Chelsea needs help. We jst keep saying torres n drogba can’t b paired. But dis aint tru now. Instead of playin malouda or kalou. Ɣ don’t u play sturridge to ‎D̶̲̥̅̊ left, torres  ‎D̶̲̥̅̊ ryt n drog i̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ ‎D̶̲̥̅̊ middle. Mikel @ 4 n josh upfront at a free row. Don’t tink dis guys coachin us want to gamble. Wish AVB can read dis.
