Chelsea will seek to edge one step nearer qualification for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League as they prepare to face-off against Belgian champions, Genk. The Stamford Bridge club already hammered them 5-0 in London this season and Andre Villas-Boas’ charges will be expected to bring home all three points from the Pro League club.

Roman Abramovich’s club opened their quest for the continental trophy with a 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. The Londoners emerged victors after outclassing the Bundesliga side for much of the game and goals from David Luiz and Juan Mata gave the scoreline is deserved reading.

An inexplicably stupid error from Salamon Kalou gifted Valencia a lifeline in Spain as the La Liga side were awarded a penalty, which they converted to ensure the match finished 1-1. Otherwise, the three-time Premier League winners would’ve coasted to victory. Nonetheless they have asserted the same swagger in their other game in Group E thus far.

A brace from Fernando Torres was the highlight as Raul Meireles, Branislav Ivanovic and Kalou all notched a goal each. Apart from the blip at the Mestalla, Chelsea have enjoyed a flawless journey so far and seven points from three games is an agreeable total return.

The Blues should be able to easily dispose off Genk and possibly aid the goal difference in what will be remembered as one of their easiest games of their European campaign this season.
