Chelsea: The Season So Far

I know it’s still only October but Goal.com asked for some early thoughts on how things are going for Chelsea so far this season – and never being one to keep my opinion to myself, I duly obliged. So, if you want to know my thoughts on Di Matteo, who’s been our best player or even our best performance so far, have a read here.

  1. Still have a few concerns with the team shape and our second option as Torres is the fulcrum for the side. Don’t like Lamps and Mikel in front of the back 4, they don’t move the ball quick enough for me, Lamps still wanders too much and Mikel’s head can do the same. Other than that season is ok but the next three or so matches can be a test. I am worried about Spurs

  2. Sturridge last season was scoring constant in the first part of the season. That was probably the best thing villas boas did for Chelsea.(Getting the best out of him) I’ve read that Chelsea will sell him if a club can make atleast a £20m offer. I personally don’t want Chelsea to sell him. He’s a top top player and he’s only 23. If Chelsea do sell him then they will have to either get schurrle, falcao or carvanii. I agree , Mikel and lampard don’t make a good partnership in front of the back 4. If lampard wonders upfront, it leaves Mikel covering 2 places. Mikel and ramires have a good understanding of eachother as far as I’ve seen when they play together. When Sturridge is fit enough to play, hope he proves Chelsea wrong.
